Charmahal jan, while I agree with you with most of the things you said, I just want to point out that when you look at socially progressive countries (I'm not talking about history but today) when it comes to basic human needs, welfare, education, healthcare, employment, comfort and generally just "wellbeing". if you count all the categories together, not many countries beat north European countries, including the US. That has been reported in various statistics too.
Now I'm not saying by any means that the US and other countries are bad! As you said, specially the level of economy and employment in the US is very high. but some people have this illusion of the US being the dream land where everyone in the world seek to go to, which is absolutely not true! As said in my previous replies, just as average Americans can not live in many European countries, average Europeans can not live in the US either. That has nothing to do with liberalism, freedom or what ever. It's just cultural and different ideas of an ideal life style for people in different countries.
Now the reason for this discussion is to say, I'm personally living in this liberal, democratic and comparatively fair world which is totally against everything Trump stands for and which is apparently a dream in lala land for Trump supporters!
