ppl should start trading with fake dollar bills made at home.. seriously bigger faith in that under current regime. 5 bux equal our own 100,000 toman.

I am sure more banks will say good bye this is the best time to break disaster news., hearing bank gavamin is next to go (bank niroo entezami)

Banks have paid over 200 Trillion Tomans in interest during the last decade. It's now time to absorb those cash flow back to the bank, once done then the price of dollars drop and makes millions of people more miserable than they are.
No. That's not how it pans out. Cash flow being absorbed is only a side-effect, not a cause of this situation.

The value of Dollar vs. Rial cannot drop without fundamentals of Rial changing and investor sentiment doing a major shift from 'extra negative' to 'neutral' and then to 'positive'. Such changes require extreme monetary measures backed by an international trading currency (like Euro or Dollar itself) and implemented with maximum transparency. Something that will never happen in Iran.

Some people think for a currency to meet its demise, there's a need for hyperinflation. Although, hyperinflation is definitely in the horizon for Rial, it's not a necessity for Rial to die.

Rial is already a dead horse. The name might survive, but the money, its source (central bank) and its coins/bills will not. You can 'bank' on it.

well To me sounds like a dooms day scenario, some of the poiints are probable, but in two years when Trumpster is out of the office (fingers crossed) the sentiment will change. Regardless a shitty long time ahead for Iranians.

What a painful and bad comedy of 40 years it has been.

What time frame can you give for death of Rial, coz if beyond two years it has better survival rates based on above.

To me things will be in a state of limbo until further. .beyond Trumps/Republican era. IR has the juice to survive and support rial.

1 U$ = 19000 Toman

Central bank actually injected dollars today, but still failed to control the market's thirst for foreign currency.

The thing is there is so much liquidity/fear available that any dollar hitting the markets will be picked up either by regime insiders, people in fear of further decline, people really needing the dollars to travel, businesses, and other sectors of society and economy acting in this manner for their own reasons. The market is not healthy and not a transparent and open market place. So in reality you can't actually analyze and know where Iran stands. Plus the sanctions on Iranian oil which will come in November will reduce the liquidity of the regime even more and choke them in both supporting internal Iranian economy and its foreign wars and proxies it needs to inject money into. I think not until the matter of sanctions and especially oil is resolved we will only continue to see decline non stop and peoples lives getting harder and harder while prices continue to go up and value of the Rial to decline. It's a truly sad time to what Iran has become and the poor people living there. I don't even understand how people survive when you have such prices changes on a daily basis and can't make a plan for anything.

It truly has become a game of mere survival, albeit a relatively easy one for now. For most people it means cutting all costs and purchases of items not related to absolute basic needs. A true economical depression. While still far from a 'doomsday scenario', this has severe consequences:

- You will see a huge wave of young children (under 15) seeking work/income. The phrase "Koodakaane Kaar" will take on a whole new meaning as the number of kids needing work to support their families will be astonishing.

- The country's birth-rate, specially in cities will plunge. More than it already has. Negative population growth is inevitable in Iran.

- Education will become a luxury only reserved for the 'haves' of the society. Many families will not be able to send their children to school/university.

- Crime will rise. A lot. Poverty itself doesn't necessarily increase crime, but instability does.

Cost of bread (non-packaged) fuel and goods are still roughly the same. Fresh baked bread which is an index of consumer's good hasnt' changed in some times. Other goods normally have prices printed so stores can't jack it up, only new batch of goods have higher prices. Yes consumer hasn't really seen the end of it yet.
Produce and Fruit stores get inspected and they cant' just jack it up, has to be based on purchase price..the get inspected very often like maybe twice a week. So the thieves are really at the top.

Now prices of services is a different story; I think they can get away with a lot. And changes from industry to next.

I don't even understand how people survive when you have such prices changes on a daily basis and can't make a plan for anything.
