Yes as BT said they are originally from north east of India, a region called Asam.
Most Indians are brown but you would be surprised there are light skinned blue eyed minorities in keshmir north India. Their ancestors were possibly iranic people called tocharians who lived in now a days Tajikistan north India and west of China(near Tajikistan)
Most Bollywood actors and actresses are hand picked and originally keshmiris.
While most Indian are Indo- European speakers they have mixed heavily with indigenous dravidian people who lived in the region b4 Aryans moved in.
Also Muslim Indians tend to be lighter than Hindus. Most southern Indians are actually racially pure dravidians related to Sri lankans and have black skin color.
May I add there over 1000 languages spoken in India.
