23,000 Toman.

Bank Markazi's official rate: 22,500 (this is the rate the bank buys your dollars at)

Funniest running joke of the day is yesterday's official headlines about pallets of cash arriving on airplanes from the sale of Venezuela's gold yesterday :) People have made a massive mockery out of it.

Honestly, credit should be given when due. Dollar at 24000 Toman is actually an accomplishment. It should be a lot higher. I have always been impressed by their ability to keep Rial alive despite it having absolutely no vital signs whatsoever. It will eventually die, but the monetary regime in Iran has played its hand pretty well given the circumstances.

Anyone knows latest dollar price
23,000 Toman right now, though no one is selling. That's what they buy it at, but you'd be hard pressed to find amounts over $5000 at that price in Iran.

The central bank keeps doing this (injecting some dollars to control the rate) but it's completely futile because they're bleeding more than 2 Trillion Tomans a day on the other end (printing virtual Rial to pay for expenses). The most logical thing to do is to suspend Rial as a currency and make either Euro or Dollar the accepted currency until Iran's economy somewhat recovers. Then they can re-introduce a national currency. As of right now Rial is dying and it's killing Iranians with it.

Don't worry. Pretty soon the Chinese Yuan will be the official currency.
