With his amazing performance, Mehdi opened the door for few Iranian forwards such as Alipour or Moghanlou to play in Portugal, even though the last two are not at same level as him but now more Portuguese teams take a risk on Iranians, already 5 Iranians including Taremi playing in Liga Nos.
He also polished his game, worked on his finishing and converting the chances, even though the other aspects of his game were pretty good already, he also shut the mouth of his bashers. Has been Porto's best player since the start of the season, and playing a key role for arguably top 15 clubs in the world, something that no Iranian ever done, hope he continues to shine, too bad he joined Europe at 27. Special player....
All credit to him.

Saman Ghoddos's goal tonight @ 0:50
Brentford won 3-2 and moved up to second in the league.

They play the most beautiful football in Championship, they came very close to promotion last year and this year despite a young squad, lots of injuries, they are still among top teams in the league and hopefully will promote to PL.

Frank was the best thing that happened to Saman career after couple years of tough time off the field. and despite not being %100 yet, they converted his loan to the permanent deal.
He started the season totally out of the shape, then Frank gradually insert him into the line up by playing few minutes here and there, and in last few weeks he has been starting all the matches(also injuries to the few players helped him to play more).
He played in lots of positions with the club, RW, LF, CF, CAM, and deep midfielder as well.

If Taremi was a foreigner some people on this forum would have already been making threads to describe him as the best Asian player of all times.

And many more hopefully besides.

And we have to acknowledge the one individual who opened the door to Mehdi, and who Taremi credits for his move to Portugal.

We genuinely didn't deserve that guy... What he did for a diseased national team just can't be underestimated.

Although I totally agree with you about CQ, I don't think Taremi's great performances alone will increase more Iranian players in Portugal anymore. What Taremi did was to open the door for Alipour and Moghanlou. Fine! But now they all need to perform. If only Taremi performs and not the other 2, Taremi could be considered as a one time Iranian player by them.

Remember how Nekounam opened the door for Masoud Shojaei and Ansarifard in Spain? Even though Masoud was semi-successful there, recruiting Iranians stopped after Ansarifard.

Unfortunately both have not been that good.
Even though Moghanlou has very limitied set of skill which is not being well used in Santa Clara and Alipour wasn't really well served in Maritimo, but he had few great occasions which he could have done better

They need to seriously raise their games if we wanna see more Iranian players in Portugal.

Another solid 84 min play for Ghoddos and Brentford, they beat Middlesbrough 1-4 away, and sitting with 54 points at 2nd place of Championship.
The more season advance, more looks like the race for direct promotion is between Norwich City(28 g, 55p), Brentford(27 g, 54p) and Swansea City(27g, 54p). reading with 48 points are at 4th place.

Shahab Zahedi(25 years old), who leads Ukraine Premier League as top scorer, join Zorya(Sayyadmanesh), from Olyimpik Donetsk, apparently there were some interest from Dynamo and Rio Ave(former team of Taremi) for him but he decided to stay in Ukraine.
Zorya are 4th in Ukraine league and have a good chance to play in EL again.
Hope our two strikers play together up front for them.

You can add the LB, Jafar Salmani who joined Portimonese in Liga Nos in Portugal. Their coach is his former coach with Sanat Naft, also Mehdikhani joined Persepolis few months a go.

We also have 7 players in Qatar:
Ali karimi, Shoja, Ebrahimi, Mehrdad Mohammadi, Montazeri and Pouladi and Rezaeian
Also at this stage only Shoja, Ali Karimi, Mehrdad Mohammadi and probably Rezaeian are still TM material.
