The Difference Between "Sharaf" and "Adab"

A general point I just want to make is that Adab and Sharaf are not the same thing. Not only does the first not guarantee the second, it's often used actually to cover up a shameful lack of it.

To put it in plain English, a polite scumbag is still a scumbag. And often a conniving one.

A person who doesn't show even an ounce of sympathy for the unspeakable suffering of the women and children of his country, a person who doesn't even acknowledge that this suffering is happening unless he's shaming others for actually caring about it(!) is absolutely NOT a decent person and does not deserve to be treated as such. And acting "nice enough" does not change this overriding fact.

A bikhial Iranian these days is like a family member who knows his cousin and her kids get raped and beaten every night, and not only does he not speak up when the disturbing evidence is seen all over town, he refuses to acknowledge anything is even happening unless he's shaming people for trying to help! There is zero difference here in terms of character and what it says about that person. Would we be nice to such a POS just because he's vaguely nice?? Why should it be any different anywhere else when such a disgusting lack of conscience is practically flaunted in front of us??!

It's not only fair, but necessary to call these cretins out. Just as it's our duty to speak up and help when we see our women and young people being treated worse than prisoners of war, it's also our duty to shame the shameless roaches who practically spit on them and enable their suffering.
