Too many Asian Players of the Year Not GOOD for TM

Many on this board would have been very angry if Karimi wouldn't have been chosen 2004's Asian Player of the year, . But, it seems having too many stars and Asian Player of the year in our team not only has not done us any good, in fact, it has hurt us in the long run. For example, Azizi, Kia, and Dai were far more effective for the national team before they became Asian players of the year. In each case, a couple of years after winning the title, each player’s effectiveness for the TM declined rapidly. Having the star status also creates a lot of ego problems for the team. Many of you probably can remember what the ego issue between Daie and Kia did to the team during Asian Cup in Lebanon a few years ago when Talebi was the coach. I am afraid; this might be the beginning of Karimi’s decline (if the game with Bahrain is the evidence). I much rather see the TM with no stars, but with many hard working blue color players that have only one thing in mind: team work.
