I fully expect PAG, Hosseini, Azmoun, even Ghoddos, and Karim or maybe Hajsafi, Ezzatollahi, to move to a top 4 league teams. and some like Beiranvand, Taremi, and few others to make a move to 2nd rated European leagues.

Lots of enthusiasms around TM after 20 something years again(since 1996 and golden generation introduction).

Now is the time to stop playing the direct game and actually build the attack from the center by some play making, we were the weakest team in this category.

I think Beiranvand will certainly end up in a good European team with this showing, though he did cost himself some money with the drop he had.

CQ sealed our CD position for the next two world cup with the addition of Cheshmi(24) and Majid Hosseini(22), plus add Pouraliganji who is 26.

Now just imagine in few years we will have Shekari(19), Delfi(17), Esmailizaeh(17), Taha Shariati(17), Hosseinzadeh(18)
WOW!!!

And what was the yellow for then? For naz kardan? It was a deliberate act of frustration and it was straight red. You either show the red for the elbow or nothing. Yellow is meaningless.

yeah exactly!! Either you give a red or you let it be.

It's difficult for non-EU goalkeepers to move to Europe but Beiranvand is high potential and has high upside. Someone should take a shot at him.

I think he will be sought after ,the guy worked his way up from ground level with no connections ,no money and no roof over his head and made it to team melli without the usual root via perspolis or Taj ,took a lot of bullying and abuse and stood tall like a rock and proved his unfair critics wrong .

Now being a no 1 and a starter for Iran in the world cup with excellent performances he deserves to move to Europe .
Best of luck to our young hero .

Against Morocco we won by an own goal and against Portogal by a penalty. Even Jahan Bakhsh scored so many goals in Holland he didn't score one goal in this world cup. We always have a problem in world cup that we don't score many goals burn some chances. I do have respect for CQ specially for a good defense but it seems that our good forwards do not know how to play effective against big teams.
FIFA escorts Portogal and Spain to next round but both Iran and morocco deserved better.

Guys, some of you watching on TV might recognise me as the fan with face paint and green tears at the end of the match.

I just wanted to say that despite the pain of being in this tough group and a whisker away from a historic second round and a very possible path for further progression, I'm really proud of this patient, proud and disciplined Team Melli and the spirit they have shown.

They have faced unique challenges on the way to the world cup, from players not even being able to wear their preferred boots due to sanctions, to friendlies cancelled at the last minute, internal problems due to our political status in the world...

Yet the boys, the coaching team and the fans were unified and embraced this Team Melli throughout all obstacles. You delivered with passion and pride that can only be the envy of the world. Rest assured, all TM fans, that there are hundreds of thousands of young children in Iran and around the world watching this wide-eyed with wonder. Our future is bright indeed.

Thank you to Russia for hosting us. Thanks to humanity, decency, friendship and football.

His opinion! I personally dont agree ! I dont think that was RED for CR. I also think the PK for Iran was a correct call. I dont get why poeple say it was not intentional, it doesnt matter guys ! u jump with arms open, your hand change the direction , its a PK. Good call by the ref.

Do you guys know how many people are listening to the communication between the refs? seriously guys ...
Ronaldo thought about punching him, he missed then tried to elbow him, that is the red card offense, same with Ramos elbowing in last year's semifinal or his attempt to elbow Liverpool's GK, they are all red card offense. Just look at De Rossi's elbow on Srna a few years back and see when these offenses actually catch on they can hurt the opponent, very dangerous and should be punished by red card immediately.

after the heoric penalty save by iran keeper the whole portugal
team lost it.they did not create one chance after it and ended up with
3 yellow cards including one to ronaldo which should have been red.
that's why that save was so big and especially the fact that it was
from their 'leader'.the same happened when messi missed for argentina
and it even carried over to their next game.

Bro i just felt sorry for the young kids around me crying and just thought we were this close to something historic.

But still was very proud of the team, staff and fans so it was a bittersweet.

It was also a tough match for me as an iranian family were having a fight next to me, very drunk young iranian man in his 20s was bleeding from his hand for some reason, kept falling over, punched his ?fatherinlaw, then his ?girlfriend/sister had a hypoglycaemic episode and fainted and it became chaotic. I tried to help but was pushed out the way and then security got them out. the whole thing took place over about 60-70 minutes of the game.
