It's hard to judge a team by pre-season performances specially with many key players absent due to world cup. Bayern had most of their first team players and did high press against United yesterday. to beat the high press you need your midfielders to play quick one touch passes to get out of the press. but yesterday's United midfield (Fred , Herrera & Pereira) haven't played enough games together to know the play of each other. so they couldn't get out of the press to then be able to provide service to attacking players. lack of width was also a problem with United. neither Luke Shaw nor Darmian pushed up much to create chances. they probably were too careful not to get caught out by Bayern's Ribery & Robben.

English Championship and the battle for EPL promotion will be even more competitive this season.

A great coach in Marcelo Bielsa is leading Leeds United this season. Bielsa has already stamped his style of play on Leeds in their league opener 3-1 win over Stoke City.

Those 2 are not necessarily mutually exclusive. LOL.

Chelsea board is quite shrewd in selling & buying players. They are paying top cash for Kepa. but he is a good keeper and only 23. the goal keeper market in the next few years may well justify Kepa's price tag.

Courtois has only one year left on his contract and won't renew it. He can walk out of Chelsea for free next summer.

I think Sarri rates Kepa real high for his distribution ability which is part and parcel of Sarri's style of play starting from the back. not many good young keepers have that quality.
