Which makes it all the worse for them to be happy about it. I hope you were not mentioning that for purposes of justifying support for bigoted actions.

Freedom of religion in west - scared of buildings

The responses here are very sad and I find it very hard to see where they are coming from. biAzar, if you are truly for preserving cultural heritage of the location you live in, then I am sure that you forbid yourself to speak Persian in a public location in the US (or wherever else you live)...

18.5 Billion Caught By Turkish Authorities on the way to Iran

Theres no way it was $18bil. I don't even think he could have done it if he'd used the 3 trucks from the Italian Job movie. Also, how can all that money leave Iran and not leave a huge crater in the economy...

The Nature Journal says Daneshjou duplicated an earlier paper!

It has nothing to do with integrity or cheating. If the work is of your own or from your research group there is nothing wrong with using similar introductions, definitions, etc. When it gets to copy and pasting its a different story...but still it happens every so often I'm sure advisors that...

The Nature Journal says Daneshjou duplicated an earlier paper!

NVM... i hadn't look closely enough to see he copied and pasted the work of others. Like Abedzade said, if its your own work yea people do it often... even other peoples work it happens every now and then, but that's when the advisor is the same or when two researches are in the same group...

The Nature Journal says Daneshjou duplicated an earlier paper!

I'm not defending him, but based on my experience many people do that and it's not the case of it being an isolated event like it is with data fudging and other things. This happens every so often for journal submissions to engineering type papers. The author essentially submits the same type...

World Public Opinion poll: "Most Iranians express acceptance of election outcome"

This is a world renowned institution. If YOU have proof their data is not valid or their method provides dishonest answers then you can become very famous by disproving it. I am not a survey researcher, and I am sure you are not either. So in this case, I think we would do well to trust the...

World Public Opinion poll: "Most Iranians express acceptance of election outcome"

Regarding the refusal rate, as many people had a question about it: As those familiar with statistics know, the refusal rate have minimal effect on the results if it is a contact refusal rate. UNLESS, there is a strong correlation between refusal rate and the topic of the poll, there is no...

World Public Opinion poll: "Most Iranians express acceptance of election outcome"

Sorry but I may not be that old to have experienced that. Also, that doesn't hold for a phone survey. People again could easily not respond or just not take part in it. There was nothing about the calls to make people feel threatened. The questionnaire shows this. Maybe. But thats in...

World Public Opinion poll: "Most Iranians express acceptance of election outcome"

They've polled Iran many times before and I actually know a friends who have studied Phd in Public Policy who used to work for them and have went on to do research in Iran. If you read their methodology, you'll find that the phone interviews are consistent with face-to-face interviews. They...

World Public Opinion poll: "Most Iranians express acceptance of election outcome"

If they were scared they could have easily said they didnt want to respond. That option was open. Again, review the questionnaire. Also, your claim that people are scared seems counter intuitive considering we had people marching yesterday as part of green movement during Roze Qods. Why would...
