Many lives were affected by his works. He left lots of visuals for moments in which one needs to visualize the joy of life's simpler things.

    Rest in peace sir.

He was suffering from cancer for quite some time, his son lives in SF area and i heard from people close to him that he was cancer free for while but then again this horrible disease made the damage one more time.

He was pioneer, role model for many producers in country. Losing a guy like Kiarostami is like losing Lotfi, Meshkatian in traditional music. You will have people like that once in life time.

    R.I.P!

He made the best movies when our Country never cared much about the Publicity in abroad. . I guess once he said the likes of Farhad Asghari are lucky to be active at this time because he is being recognized fairly inside and outside of Iran .

I honestly can not say I liked his works in the more recent years (not that I am qualified).

but his Shekl aval Shekl dovom documentary was always interesting to me.

    khaneh doost.

He refused to picture women with scarf on among her family in his movies . Kurosawa : " when Satyajit ( the great Indian filmmaker ) passed away I was very depressed. But after seeing Kia's films, I thanked God for just giving us the right person to take his place " .

he was the most original iranian filmmaker and was one of the best directors if
not the best in the world.this quote from one of the icons of french new wave
    cinema says it all:

“Film begins with DW Griffith and end with Abbas Kiarostami “(Jean-Luc Godard)

RIP, As a kid I did not like his movies and thought they were boring. Later on, I came to appreciate his movies dealing with human emotions and simplicity very much. Many of his movies tell a story that does not end as in conventional format but viewers can use their imagination to make up the end themselves!

Anyone remember this story from one of his movies ? Man goes to doctor and saying : Doc , I feel pain all over my body , wherever I feel it with my finger it aces , Doc told him there is nothing wrong with your body , it's your finger who doesn't feel well .
