some of these games are just stupid and no one would care...
if you are trying to get Liverpool in CL, you gotta say first 8 teams ! j/k

I really don't think 6th Place team in EPL is that much better than a 2nd place in Russia. It's just they get more publicity and attention because of the league they play in. Similar to how many people think England is DA shit but the team proves to be just shit year after year.

The Champions League draw may sometimes feel like a drawn out affair, but the storylines, narratives, match-ups it sets up are filled with excitement, history and expectation. The 32 qualified teams will fight to reach the 2016/17 final in Cardiff, Wales.Join MARCA English's Marc Mayo and Aldo Sainati as they discuss what the draw means in a larger context and all the group stages have to offer

Group of death?Marc Mayo: Not only are Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone reigniting their fiery duels of Champions League past, but the advent of PSV Eindhoven, who forced Atleti to a penalty shootout in the last-16 just six months ago, will spice up the race for a top-two finish that is sadly lacking in Real Madrid's, Barcelona's, and Paris Saint-Germain's case. Of course, the wildcard of this group stage truly is Rostov, who will fight hard for third. Knocking out Ajax convincingly in the play-offs, few will fancy the long trip to the Azov coast.Aldo Sainati: There seems to be no major group of death, as the draw is overall pretty even, with two strong teams per group expected to go through. This supports criticism of the direction the competition is heading, with group stages becoming predictable due to the financial gulf between teams.

Starting 2018/19 the champions league format will allow first 4 teams from top 4 league participate in the competitions. Both Italy and Germany benefit this as they currently got 2 1/2 spot also Spain and England 4th team wont need to go through qualification round

Quality-wise, groups E and G are quite the joke, but perhaps they will turn out to be highly competitive.

    Rostov indeed kharesh gayeedast.

I also think group B is unpredictable and group C is the toughest one. Leicester City got lucky and got quite an easy group but it still not guaranteed.

Because they signed these players after they finished 5th, UEFA can't just let them in because of the signings. But putting Benfica and CSKA in pot 1 made some imbalance groups.
