there will be a transition period for immigration guards to sort things out. (US immigration officers are not the brightest sparks in the room) They probably cannot prove or disprove that someone has dual citizenship so to be safe they block them from entering.
makes sense at their level of thinking.

Having said that, i never understood the dual citizenship bullshit. Either your are Iranian or Canadian. Being a citizen of a country means you have some sort of allegiance towards it and not treat it just as a piece of paper. (which most iranians do)

This is fairly normal as Keyvan said.

Don't think Canadians with an Iranian background need to worry much (except for the next few weeks when things are all new and blurry).

There's also the case-by-case aspect that is left at the officer's discretion. That has always been the case. Many Canadians get rejected at the border for various reasons.

Dual citizenship has so far not been revoked mainly due to Israel. Obama's Chieif of staff chose to do his military service for israelie Army not American Army.

well i guess Trump is taking steps to correct some wrongs.

I don't know about the US but up here in Canada where we have the so called 'universal' medicare i get pissed off at paying up to 48% income tax only for some IR citizens to come here get the citizenship and fuck off back to IR working for IRGC affiliated organizations not paying a single bloody dime

and then when mommie or daddy gets diabetes i have to fucking foot the bill for them.

I have nothing against taking refugees from Asia and Africa so that they and their families will have the same opportunities as the rest of the people but for such situations as above they should be laws. I guess Trump is moving to correct some past wrongs. hats off to him that at least he is doing the stuff he said. rare among politicians.

in post revolutionary IR i was made fun of constantly for being born in West Germany... how could i have known that 30 years later that fact might make life a bit easier for me. (if i was a US traveller which i am not since the early 2000s).
maybe if Trump decides not to bomb innocent people all over the world i would, again, become a US traveller.

I refused to travel there under bush and obama while they were raping the middle east.

I never understood the dual citizenship thing either but now it seems like Americans cannot travel to Iran, due to US putting visa restrictions on Iranians. BTW like you said you get pissed when you pay 48% taxes, those countries you mentioned before probably pay the same thing or more. That is the problem with socialist policies, they are great but it comes at a cost. BTW I do not know what American Iranians would do what if you have family, a business or property in Iran? Now for me, I cannot go to Iran anyways because I am an American Veteran so this does not impact me. It impacts other members of my family. BTW in US at lesat you can be born in USA or get naturalized and in my case, since my dad was a citizen of Iran, I have an Iranian PP. I also got my military deterrent because only child, over a certain age and went to college. They even wanted my junior high and elementary transcripts but I told them, "The best I can do is college and high school." Basically that is how the dual citizenship thing works. You have Americans with dual citizenship from other countries as well.

un named sources say that Iranian born who are citizens of say Germany or Canada are also affected.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefi...itizens-report

he Journal said it got an advance look at a statement by the State Department that the refugee ban extends beyond just citizens of Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Libya and Yemen, but also to people who may originally come from those countries but have a passport from another nation or dual nationality.

The newspaper offered the example of an Iraqi person entering the U.S. on a British passport would also be banned, though British citizens don't normally require a visa to enter the country.

“Travelers who have nationality or dual nationality of one of these countries will not be permitted for 90 days to enter the United States or be issued an immigrant or nonimmigrant visa,” the statement said, according to the Journal.

“Those nationals or dual nationals holding valid immigrant or nonimmigrant visas will not be permitted to enter the United States during this period. Visa interviews will generally not be scheduled for nationals of these countries during this period.”

The dual-citizenship ban doesn’t apply to U.S. citizens who are also citizens of the seven nations singled out by Trump.

The full statement is expected to be released Saturday.

These executive actions and orders being signed by POTUS are a sign of scary times ahead.
This new administration has some dark plans for that region and are setting up
the groundworks. Get yourselves ready for a big mess.

AS posted here, Homeland Security confirmed, it doesnt matter if you have burnt your passport or not, if you were BORN in any of those 7 counties (including Iran) and you do NOT have a US Passport, you can no longer enter US.

No this is indefinite. The 90 day ban applies to refugees.

    Good.

Canada grants citizenship to pieces of shit who commit honor killings in the name of Islam. Canada grants citizenship to some of the most extremist Muslim criminals who freely advocate Shari'a law and hold prayers right here in Ontario led by extremist Imams. Canada grants citizenship to Islamic Republic officials who have had a part in torturing and killing of Iranian people. Canada grants citizenship to Iranians who steal $3 billion from public funds and escape to Toronto. Canada gives citizenship to Iraqi, Syrian and Pakistani people who collect welfare checks, buy an American flag with that money and then burn it during demonstrations right here in Toronto. Canada grants citizenship to women who wear a fucking Burka to their citizenship ceremony.

I totally agree with the new policy.

The policy doesn't include KSA and Pakistan and Palestine. If it did it would be a good plan. The fact that it doesn't tells me something is cooking for the IR in Trumps's white house.
