The only good thing for smaller teams is they get the chance to play for free vs some quality teams.

As "Stupid" as the cup may look, it has been the Best rehearsal for the Host nation, to see what they can do with 2 full groups of matches, fans and logistics, compare to next years 8 full groups.

confed cup games is best suited, firstly for african, asian, and north american teams to get some international experience without the travelling expenses and the stupidity of friendly games. Second, for Germany (this time) to give their youngsters some 'pick up' game experience.

maybe the money FIFA spends on this competition is 'stupid' but as far as the games go i would call international friendlies 100 times more stupid than confed cup. They have been become useless games in which players pick up useless injuries in middle of the season. moreover, teams come in and 'don't' play. they don't tackle , they don't challenge 50-50 balls and overall, to me at least, they have been quite ridiculous for the last , lets say, 10 years.

I prefer confed cup. but then again this needs to get balanced with the money spent on confed cup. looking at it brutally fifa fucking puts money in pockets of corrupt camel riders and africans anyway so i rather see them waste some on confed cup.

It's mostly for rehersal purposes and finding the possible flaws for a bigger stage. Maybe there is no money in it but a good test for the hosts specially those nations with a lesser experience of having big tournaments like Qatar

Russia will be the weakest host team of a World Cup in a very very long time. Can't recall the last time the WC was hosted by such a weak side. They are even weaker than the South Africa of 2010. Their only saving grace might be Qatar in 2022 who will most likely embarrass themselves more than Russia.

Yes even weaker than that. Look at Russia's "glorious" performance in Euro 2016 and you'll realize this team has absolutely nothing to hope for. Nothing. It's not just about the results they got. It's the level of football they showed and the lack of depth in all departments. No way that can be fixed anytime soon.

I can't believe Mexico tied this game. There must be celebrations in Mexico City.
