Team-Melli to face Russia in friendly on October 10th

Confirmed by CQ as well during his press-conference. Good friendly. Last time we beat them 1-0 with the last minute Khalatbari goal

LOLL! Gholami played with khoune be khoune last year in Azadegan leage and Afshin is done, he never was the same player after his injury.

Compare our forward core in 2011 to now, wow, day and night.
Beytsaeid, Kaveh, Shahbazzadeh, Mehrdad Mohammadi, Sasan Ansari all had the chance to be starter in that team.

That team may have been inferior to the current team defensively and organization-wise, but it sure as hell looked livelier! LOL!

CQ sometimes goes overboard. Specially against shit Asian teams. I hope for his own curiosity and our sake, he tries something more pleasant in the next 2 meaningless games.

How was it livelier? Is this not a bit of early nostalgia. If you recall CQ tried to have TM play an "open" game in the first 5 games. We then lost a game to Lebanon in Beiruit (which we dominated) and Uzbekistan in Tehran (which we were the better team).
That basically meant TM could make no mistakes and needed to win the last 3 games, and from then on we saw the very conservative, super risk averse football TM became stereotyped for.
Let's not forget that game against Korea in Busan, we only had one attempt! ONE! and we scored! That was a very efficient team, and ran, almost robotically and non stop, but I wouldn't call it lively.

The team now is much more comfortable controlling the game and opponent regardless of the style.
Now we're inefficent. The games against China, Qatar and even South Korea this time, we had plenty of chances and didn't' capitalize.

Regardless, against more challenging opposition we simply will have to play the conservative style again.
"He can't kick with his left foot, he can't head a ball, he can't tackle, and doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's alright." Best on Beckham
