Togo is actually not a disaster of a friendly. It's a good first friendly game for Iran despite the absence of Adebayor.

Hopefully we'll get better ones after the Russia game.

Its about as good of an African opponent as we can find at this time considering the decent ones are still playing qualifiers.

I suppose the reason why we are playing such a kiri team like Togo, ranked #121 is because chances are we are going to play one African team. I just think there are better teams we could have played but perhaps there is a conflict of schedule thing as well. @Sly jan I would not say this is a disaster of a friendly but it is not exactly a good friendly, I would not even call Togo mediocre. This is just to prepare for an African team we will most likely go up against.

Sir Jalal Hosseini! I have a feeling we can not live without this giant in the WC! TM's defense as a whole is totally different when he plays.

Look at their players dude. They have quite a few European based players. They're not too bad. Fifa ranking doesn't always reflect the strength of the teams or else Iran wouldn't have been ahead of the Netherlands in any shape or form.

Oghab joon, if we're gonna "score" against big teams in the WC, we need giants in TM. The bigger the better!

Masoud was not invited again, Mohammad Ansari also excluded from the list. Kananizadegan and Abodllahzadeh are again back to his list and He keeps Akbar Imani, surprising midfielder of Padideh who did well this season.

Carlos Queiroz invites 27 men squad for the friendly matches against Togo and Russia :
