Shocking that they have to wear one patu and one malafeh each before playing, but great job in representing Iran, and more importantly, representing Iranian women.

yup. I was shocked too. they also have Daei-made jerseys.
There is this law about women sports in Iran, that if they want to take pictures/show it on Iran's TV/website, they have to cover their head/hands/feet fully.
so I guess thats why Berlin players couldnt wear short sleeves jerseys.

Forced? no.

Niloufar, don't you think that before you comment on something you first need to make sure you know the facts?

The German team WAS NOT forced to wear the uniforms. It was their own choice. They did it as a gesture of goodwill and that was that. It was fair play from the German side. You dress like that, we match you to make things equal. Check the news reports on BBC and other sites first.
Having said that, I don't like to see this type of attire in women's sports.

but they had to dress like that, cuz they were given media coverage. cuz I know for a fact that, in Iran's law, women sport players/games cannot be broadcasted/taken picture of, if u can see their skin.

Thats why u can never find our women badminton, basketball, swimming, sport teams' pictures/TV coverage. sad but true.

If you paid attention, you would know the German team's name is Al-Tersimspor. I think it's a club with mostly Turkish females. That's why they probably agreed to the hijab, otherwise this match would not have taken place or it would have been played indoors, so no men could get in, and no filming.

The way women are required to dress in Iran for sports is a different issue.
I read an interview by the coach of the German team. She said it was their own decision and they wanted to show equality with the Iranian team. I am sure if they wanted to wear their normal kit, they would have and the match would have taken place behind closed doors.
