I thought Zidane was born in France and started playing football in France too.

You thought right. Zidane was born in Marseille and was raised in Marseille. He learnt his football in France and is the product of the French football academies. The caption in those pictures in bullshit.

This is his brother for real, i saw a pic of him in some french papers ..
but az behrooz_c said zidane was raised in marseille and from age of 15 moved to Nantes and joined their football academy , later from same club he got his first national team cap and if i am not wrong he scored in his first game ....
