I honestly think Iranians can be divided into 3 categories :
- Those who got lucky and left Iran simply because they were too scared to do anything inside Iran, like myself.
- Those inside Iran who are looking for a way to escape because they are too scared to do anything.
- Those who live inside Iran and are in agreement with the Islamic Republic and support them.

bottom line, until we keep waiting for SOMEONE ELSE to do the job for us, Iran is never going to be free, but hey what do I know? I was not brave enough to stay there and take a bullet for my country. I really wish I was brave enough but I am not.

Another sign of reforms progressing really well!!

There is another group, those who live outside Iran and support IR and what it does in one form or another.

Don't forget the significant group of people who were born outside of Iran or moved as an infant who are proud of their heritage and want to see a free and prosperous Iran.

And the tiny subgroup who despite being born or grew up from early childhood outside Iran, for some reason agree and support IR despite never living there or even learning the Persian language in some cases.

100%, what do "ALL" of the groups that want a FREE IRAN have in common? they are looking for SOMEONE ELSE to free Iran :)
However to be fair, its not easy working with Iranians as well.

When I was young and stupid, I was a member Iranian/Canadian Congress here. We organized 4shanbe soori, 13 bedar, lots of events for Iranians (all were "suppose to be non-profit, which is another topic) , ENGHADAR DAVAAA mishod too meeting, maa goftim maa nistim !!! The main issue? no one wants to make ANY compromise! its either my way or we fight !!!

Few weeks back. I saw a video clip which made me think. This guy was saying shit to Rohani and fosho fosh kaari, of course completely hiding his face and changing his voice, anyway, his issue was "Rohani maa be to etemaad kardim, raftim boors kharidim, hameye pasandaazo dadim, bad bakht shodim"

At first I felt sorry for him, but then, I said you know, if you have internet, and phone and seem to be somewhat informed, living inside Iran AND STILL do what Rohani tells you to do, I am sorry, this is mean, vali shoma enja khari dadash!!!

We laugh at Akhoonds and regime members saying shit, and say how can these people be in power saying this stupid stuff. I like to ask a different questions:
"How can people just listen to these people and NOT do anything?"

Mesbah said even if all people vote someone and Rahbar says no, rahbar is right. People said he is not representing they system. Zarif said our people chose to live this way, nobody took him seriously. Well my friends this is Islamic Republic of Iran and it is here to stay for MANY MORE YEARS! None of these news surprises me anymore. And to be honest I think we deserve it.

The biggest problem are the people themselves. I don't know what to call them, simple and naive are the kindest words I can use.

What I can say though is that this regime has lasted this long because they have understood these people. They know how to speak to these people and pull their strings. They pres the religion button when it suites, the nationalist button when necessary and the majority haven't really understood what's happening to them.

There is a misconception that when people are under economical pressure, there will be uprising against oppressor but in reality what happens is chaos and mayhem.

So unfortunately this current status is becoming part of culture where accomplishment, love for Iran and Iranians, honestly and ethics have reduced to zero.

Our culture is "Ishalah" God willing ...

However, also in have to say that we shouldnt undermine the effort of many of our country men that truly tried but this is the most brutal regime.

All and all, I have zero hope on future of this country unfortunately.

A person who is ready to take a bullet (his life) for his belief is called an extremist! You are not one and you don't wanna be one. and Iran should certainly not be "freed" by one!

Ps. Yes we do deserve what we have today. In fact when you see some of our so called "hamvatans", you think it's way more than what we deserve!

Question: if you think Iran should not be "Freed" by one, what is your proposal?
Do you think one day Akhoonds are going to say "Hey guys, OK we are leaving now!" do you think a regime that is based on religion is EVER going to work? Do you have any example of regime change in history where the dictator just packed their bags and left simply cuz people were not happy with them?

Our friend Sly still believes that reform within the current set-up is the way to bring change. But this ignored the fact that everything has become worse since the reform movement by Kharami some 24 years ago. The hardliners who have all the power won't allow it as has been proven time and again.

I believe Rooholah Zam when he concluded that there are two ways to change the system in Iran, one is by foreign intervention, the other is by arming the people inside. There is no third option. Most people are beginning to believe this now. Either way there will be blood and lots of it. They are pushing people to that direction with their policies. People are killing themselves and their families under economic pressure. There is unprecedented poverty and desperation. People can't even breathe.
Things are going to get far worse. The regime have now openly invited Taliban for discussions. If things get worse and people rise, they will unleash Taliban inside Iran so people have no choice but to beg IR for help. We are not dealing with normal rulers, this regime is capable of the worst crimes in history and won't back down for anyone.

An extremist who brings regime change in Iran will not bring freedom. The country will only end up in the hands of another dictator. Same things, different names.

and my answer to the rest of your questions is, no.

I answered that in the first row in my reply.
This is what you are referring to? if so, how does this answer my question? It is like me asking, How can I get to New York under 7 hours from LA and you answer " Well you can not take the Train !!! ... you are not answering my question Sly jan, you are saying what is NOT going to work, I am asking WHAT is going to work? How can we see regime change in Iran?
