I'm currently doing some research on the politicisation of football in Iran and I was interested in knowing your views on: how the politics between these countries affected either of these games; the domestic socio-political situation and how it may have been reflected in these games; and the position, pressure and influence of the media. (relevant articles are also appreciated)
first I am gonna discuss about IRAN-ISRAEL 1968 then IN THE NEXT POST I WILL COMMENT AGSINST IRAN-USA GAME....
1)in 1967,the 8 day war was ended between israel and arab country.
2)this led to the hatred of Arab country to israel(also due to past history too....)
3)Nasser the president of egypt was considered as a Sultan of arab country,he was a symbol of resistance and fight against israel....
4)Iran was not exception to this rule too..people were acting differently,due to,being as a habitant of iran,jewish people,were considered as a iranian,but few of populations were against them,and continously tried to make a joke and fun of them,for example,because they were stingy,people used to say,JOHOOD KHOON DID,and if your jewish newborn baby has a difficulty to be born,just show them 2 rials,he,or she will be born right away!!!! but unlike the arab country they did not try to assisnate jewish in Iran...
5)there were few organisations in iran which took an active action against jewish people,Fadayiane Islam,they did not assasinte any jewish one,but they were actively set up few demonstrations against the presence of Israel in Iran,they were against the any relationships
6)due to majority of iranian,were moslem,and due to previous comment that I mentioned,people trid to protest against Israel in any historical events.one of the events was Iran -Israel game in Amjadien,final of ASIAN game.....

the game started in AMJADIEH,under tight security action.before the game starts,near 1000,people arrested in south of iran,due to demonstartion against israel in south of tehran,one of them was LAJAVARDI,the former head of prison of Evin who was assisnated few years ago...RAFSANJANI,khosro khooban,Rajaei,were among demonstrators who were arrested on that paticular date....
2)before game starts,a few people,release few dogs in amjadieh which one of their eyes were covered by a black leather,and they called the dogs,MOOSHEDAYAN....
3)few people arrasted in amjadieh due to riot against goverment......
4)there were few episodes of clashes among spectators and security guard,but no one was arrested.
5)for the first time in history of iran soccer team,40,000 crowd ,participated in the game,while capacity of amjadien was 30,000,the rest 10.000 decided to see the game,while standing.....
6)20.000 crowd were obligated to stay out of the stadium....
7)Jamshid Garaghozlou,was Iranian reporter,he repoted the game for radio in direct....
8)this game was called THE MOTHER OF ALL GAMES........
9)The match started at may 19,1968,5,00 in the afternoon,the day before this clash,millions of people proceeded to mosque to pray for Iran national team...
10)due to high tension,among iranian people,the goverment,asked iranian,to see this game as a regular game and not a political game....

2)Before this game,we beat Burma,one of the best team in Asia at the time,they were champion of Asian games in 1966,we beat them 3-1....in that game,4 special Iran players were seriously injured,homayoun behzadi,ali jabbari,mehrab shahrokhi,and hossein kalani....for this reason,jabbari and behzadi did not start the game instead asghar sharafi and fariborz ismaeili started the game.......

I watched that final on telly ...Adelkhani skillfuly went past the right back and crossed it low into the six yard and shum was shum for his team and put it passed Visuker who was meeting the new Asian Eagle who took the title of best keeper of Asia from him for the fist time ...

History of ANTI JEWISH AND BRITISH PREJUDICE IN IRANIAN FOOTBALL:1)
during 1960s,racism began more manifest itself in IRAN football.1968 event,coincided with the spread of television coverage,,,so that was a great oppurtunity for iranian racists ,to promote their voice,against the opponents.
2)it should be noted,that anti jewish prejudice in iranian football has a long history,from 1930...
3)despite discrimination on and off the field,the jewish community tried to expand their community and fight with racism..they decided to build two football sporting clubs,THE KUROSH football club,and Bradaran football club...,they tried to fight back,and compete in takhte jamshid club.....even Baradaran club organized a defence commitee,which physically repelled against facist aggression.....
4)these 2 clubs never succeded in iran superleague,one of the major problems were,no moslem players ,were satisfied to play for them,those who were ready to play,sooner or later,would be bycotted by people,or clericks....another reason,was stadium atmosphere in which was against them....
5)in 1968 final,iranian players were under dual pressure,one from government and another one from clericks,mosques,people....
especially when israel scored and iran was behind 1-0,the stadium atomsphere,suddenly changed and more and more hatred,to israel,demonstrated on the field.......
6)on that day,iran was under too much pressure,especially we lost to israel 4-0 in tokyo 1958..
7)the first half ended 0-0,but israel dominated the first half,that was a bad sign for the football lover who came to amjadieh to see their champions,aziz asli iranian goalkeepwer saved 2 goals in first half,marhoom mehrab shahrokhi,in an interview with donyaye varezesh in 1358,says,that was a tough first half,we knew them are one and shoulder above us,we just look each other,and ask eachother,when the first half would finish.......because we needed a tie,if we would tie them,we would be asian champion,...but people wanted something else ,winning the asian championship,was not important for them but winning isrealis....
