The country that is hosting the next World Cup, which has spent money and has devoted resources to its soccer has won. The country with below average league and a corrupt system, which cannot even plan meaningful friendly matches has been ousted in the semifinals. What is the big surprise? Why was otherwise expected? Why would we think our players and CQ have failed?
CQ had pluses and minuses. Overall he left a positive mark. The man fell in love with Iran and showed more love and care for its people than those who govern it. Many thanks to him for tolerating the government for eight years. Let’s see which first class coach is willing to go to Iran and deal with the crap. I am not holding my hopes high.

Qatar was impressive but you need a bit of luck as well. If the third penalty didn't happen, Japan would have scored the second goal. Qatar was defending and looked tired.
All and all, they deserved the championship. For small population like Qatar، this makes it even more impressive.

Iran, Saudi, and Qatar were better teams.
Qatar won the cup because they were playing behind enemy lines, so they were united, and they were under no pressure if they lost. By united I mean the entire nation was behind them and they had no Khiabani or Haj Rezaei undermining the whole thing, and sport minister trying to take revenge of political rival or a club fighting national team.

Iran however lost to infightings beyond the camp. We had no fight in the team but TM had to waste as much energy and focus challenging Branko and Ali Karimi. Loss was not an option. Still is not. They treating the team as if they didn't get out of the group. That is why when we conceded a childish goal, the entire team deflated of the fear of imminent loss.

We won the same Qatar few times in a row, last one just before the AC, last 3 under the same management. They are the same team with 53% win under Sanches, and 93rd in FIFA ranking. They were more than nice enough to let us train in the same camp they did, we had better coach than they did, and our players are better than them one to one compared. We had WC experience they didn't have. We spent enough money. But we are a broken nation they are not.

Reminds me of how we collapsed when Alexander or Arabs invaded. In our history, defeat begets defeat.

Unfortunately we always seem to suffer from bad refereeing, they are there to make it as hard as possible for us.
In order to overcome that we have to perform in a way to leave no doubt by beating our opposition convincingly.
Japan penalty and all those 50/50 decisions were against us, japanese theatricals cost us unnecessary yellow cards. Even Taremi's card was harsh.

Our players were in the wrong to keep going at the ref and it didn't help their cause and cost us the first goal.
But I think they felt hard done by and they were.
Is it a coincidence that two Australian refs.... We are not very popular there in football, they don't have good memories of us for sure.

Ostad, with all due respect, until when are we going to blame EVERYONE and EVERYTHING for our shortcoming EXCEPT us? Ostad, that PK was 100% correct call, Foghani and other refs and experts also agreed. I am not sure what theatricals you referring to, but we lost the game because of OUR stupidity, because of OUR mistake of running to the ref when he hadn't even whistled, because WE lost concentration and let the japs score an easy goal.

This team has short-comings that were not addresses during the tournament. It reminds me of Brazil in world cup 2014 where they had problems in every game and all of sudden disaster stroke in the semi-final, where they were really challenged. During Iraq game second half, clearly the whole performance dropped and I thought to myself if this happens we are fucked and I mentioned it here. Oh well, it happened again. So this is the problem with consistency which we lacked. Rabti be ref ham nadareh. Japan is a more consistent team and honestly if they didn't give up that penalty (right or wrong), they would have come back.

Ostad why do you just read the part you want?
Didn't I mention our players reactions to the ref?

We see things differently in a football game, I could see the ref against us, you don't.
That's fair enough, you didn't see the japs doing stunts like they have been shot and I did OSTAD.
