Iran deosn't need any of this $hit. it needs some light truck manufacturing. which they have.
they need an improved less pollutant 405ish car (better yet tata motoros). that takes of the so called nation security need to have an auto industry.
and all of other resources should be allocated toward licensing Chinese electric technology and building on it locally.
there is a generational shift happening. there is no need to invest in old combustion engine technology which you will never catch with.
invest in electric. iran has plenty of natural gas and solar to power the national grid. they should a tesla esque super charger network.
