How the Coronavirus is Killing the Middle Class

Kelly Bates is a forty-one-year-old single mom who lives with her nine-year-old daughter, Danielle Lucky, in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, a middle-income neighborhood of aging red-brick row houses a few miles from the Philadelphia airport. Bates, who is willowy, with large brown eyes, had grown up in South Philadelphia in the seventies and eighties, as part of the city’s burgeoning African-American middle class: her father was a heating contractor, and her mother worked for the Bell Telephone Company. But over the decades crime in the neighborhood increased, and, in 2015, Bates bought a three-bedroom house in Collingdale for seventy thousand dollars, hoping to escape the violence. “I wanted Danielle to go outside and play and not worry about getting shot,” Bates told me recently. Since 2016, Bates has worked as an assistant director at Kinder Academy, a chain of five child-care centers around Philadelphia. Through her work there, she received a grant to earn a bachelor’s degree in early-childhood education, and is about a year away from graduating. “Babies are my passion,” she told me. “I’m part mom, part dad, part therapist, part doctor, and part food-program officer.”

Spokesman Confirms Dispath of Iran-Made Coronavirus Kits to Germany, Turkey

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour announced on Thursday that the country’s home-made test kits to diagnose coronavirus infection have been sent to Germany and Turkey, with a delay due to restrictions on flights.
Jahanpour said that a consignment of 40,000 Iranian-made COVID-19 test kits has been sent to Turkey, although with a delay caused by transportation restrictions amid the epidemic, days after Turkish sources denied that the delivery had been made.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had said in a tweet on Friday, May 8, that Iran had sent “40,000 advanced Iran-made test kits to Germany, Turkey and others”.

On Monday, Turkish state news agency Anadolu cited “Turkish diplomatic sources” as saying that no test kits had arrived in Turkey from Iran.
Jahanpour said on Thursday that the kits had been detailed on a customs declaration on May 6 and undergone all other formalities but had been delayed due to restrictions in place on flights to Turkey.

The kits were sent to Turkey a day later, that is on May 7, on a Qatar Airways flight, he added.
Iranian special test kits for the new coronavirus have become more popular as several countries are giving orders for the diagnostic devices, an Iranian official said last week.

Deputy head of the Iranian presidency’s office for scientific affairs Mehdi Qalenoyee said on Sunday that Iranian firms are going to export serological test kits to eight more countries after a first successful cargo was sent to Germany earlier this week.
Qalenoyee said export of two types of coronavirus test kits to the Philippines and Pakistan was waiting for confirmation from the local officials after Iranian companies manufacturing the special tools sent sample kits to labs in those countries.
He added that India, Nigeria and Armenia will receive the items once travel restrictions are eased.
The official also said that Qatar, Georgia and Syria will soon be included in the list of export destination for the Iranian test kits.

کس کش دروغگو بازم زر زد :

“Germany and the United States are the two best in deaths per 100,000 people, which, frankly, to me, that’s perhaps the most important number there is.”
— President Donald Trump in comments during a Rose Garden press briefing on May 11.

The Hopkins death count estimates that, in the United States, 24.66 people per 100,000 have died of COVID-19, as of Tuesday. In Germany, meanwhile, the rate is 9.24 — meaning the American death rate is 2.5 times that of Germany.

So, big picture? It is misleading to suggest the United States and Germany are in the same league, especially when it comes to COVID deaths per capita. It’s flat-out untrue to suggest that the United States is one of the “two best,” when countless other nations are seeing far lower death rates per 100,000 people.
