Ditto.
I like Mahdi, but that was too much.
Anyway, Chinaski is banned - the antagonism on this board will at least subside a bit. ...
Kind of case in point - it's not "religion" or any other "ideology" (as a matter of fact, these people are all unified in their anti-religion stance!) - we are just not ready for democracy and tolerance. We live in democratic countries but don't have one ounce of it. We can't even be civil - we're all at fault too. We're all out for vengeance and blood.
The discussion was on religion and specifically islam. It did not start there but it terminated there.
There is only one way to think of islam as a philosophy if it stays out of government but unfortunately it does not stay out of government. The discussion started on the arrest and in some cases illegal persecution of morsi supporters, whom, during his short reign in Egypt systematically persecuted other ethnic communities and even moderate muslims backed by their 'philosophy'.
the reaction to that was a military coup d'etat and the persecution of these people by right wing military.
action and reaction.
If you need to be informed somehow about the philosophy of islam i would direct you to surah Anfaal va surah nesaa.
If you would like we could go through it together and you could prove to me that this philosophy contributes to democracy and tolerance.
The confusion is that it is not possible to have tolerance towards a 'philosophy' or not. You either agree with it or you don't or you say I don't know enough about it to have an opinion. However, once that philosophy is transposed into actions then I say again and I reiterate strongly it is the duty of all human beings to be intolerant of 'islam in action'. Now does that mean i think that we should arm ourselves and eradicate all muslims, NO unless they are armed to eradicate us.
In societies such as the ones we live in my intolerance of islam, christianity, judaism, communism, zaraostrianism becomes a disagreement.
