Good for them. Makhmalbaf himself was a very active revolutionary in 1970s and has written a couple of nice books on it. I read them when I was 14-15 years old. They taught me a lot about the world of political prisoners and why some of them become so violent and crazy.
Anyone here read Makhmalbaf's "Nobate Asheghi"? It's pretty nice.
I"m not a fan of his movies as they lack a lot, but he has an interesting personality.
My respect for him has grown after witnessing his recent activities.
