Making it to the World Cup means very little if you don't do well in it. If we cannot beat KSA at home at least by a margin of three goals, we don't belong to the WC and we will not do well even if we miraculously make it.
Get a world-class coach.
Filed the future team.
It is time to move on and build a new team. This is an excellent opportunity for the B-team to gain experience.
I dont really subscribe to that logic:
1) In WCQ98, we couldnt beat Kuwait nor KSA at home. Yet we somehow qualified and had a respectable performance. So a change in coach, an addition of a few players, plus WC fever will make it a completely different proposition.
2) 4 years is a very long time, even for a lifespan of a fan, let alone career span of a player! When Iran is playing in it we all watch and enjoy it with our families. Why should a nation give up its 20% chance in order to aim for 5 years time. Who knows what ones situation will be. The same for players
3) The inconsistency of players has shown that quite frankly what we see from a player when he is 18 does not mean he will be better at 24. Kaabi, Kazemian are good examples. So supposing we play the U23 for the NK game (aiming for experience), who is to say we can be certain that experience will 100% be made use of?
