Mahdavikia is the best Asian player ever. If we are talking about pure talent, Ali Karimi is the best Asian player ever.
Being the best is a combination of things not just talent. I really like MMK mostly because of his work ethics. He is one of the few exceptions among our players to really work hard.

Agree about Karimi but Kia wasn’t too far from them.
He was pretty far considering he was benched for the most part during his prime and only managed some assists in a domestic league that was far inferior to today's EPL, let alone the semi final of Champions League.

I agree he was the most consistent and hark-working, but really:
این کجا و آن کجا

Pure nonsense. Neither Mahdavikia nor Karimi ever reached anywhere near Son's or Park's level.
Mahdavikia literally won a man of the match in a game he played against Park in the Asia Cup 2004, and he had to do it while being handicapped by Branko and other IFF bullshit. Karimi also played better than Park in that game.

As for Son, when he plays at the highest level for a decade then you can begin to compare him to Mahdavikia.

I think your opinion is nonsense.

Funny how in your opinion a single game makes both Mahdavikia and Karimi better than Park, but poor Son has to play at the highest level for a whole decade in order to be compared to Mahdavikia!

Talk about nonsense!

Son is a head and a shoulder above any previous Asian players by a long shot. He can be pretty inconsistent but when he is on, there are not too many European or S. American players that can match his talent. He is extremely quick, technical, direct and has great shooting skills. That's pretty much the definition of a complete player. Karimi was a better technical player, but pretty much nothing more. MK was quick but couldn't shoot or dictate a game. Park was good, but nowhere as great as Sonny. My 2 cents here.

Son hasn't played against Mahdavikia or Karimi. He has played against tm and wasn't dominant in those games.

Your opinion of Son is based on his accomplishments as well. Don't be a hypocrite.

In 2003 Mahdavikia had the most assists in the Bundesliga 14 which was the highest total since the stat was ever kept.

Which champions league or EPL records did Son break?

Son is also not the first choice striker for his club. Luckily in Son's striker position two or sometimes three players get picked for a game. Most teams don't play with two RW in the same spot.

Son was lucky to play due to Kane's injury or he doesn't score those goals.

Watch as Mahdavikia takes over a game against Juventus in the CL. Juventus 2000 is stronger than Man City, and Hamburger is weaker than Tottenham.

A lot of people here are forgetting that Mahdavikia could absolutely play and be a dominant force against elite players.

Looking at records alone, Mahdavikia is no match for Son. He barely topped Son on APG but is left in dust when it comes to GPG. One can argue Spurs are playing in a higher quality league as well but let's not get into that.

Son: Games Goals
2010–2013 Hamburger SV 73 (20)
2013–2015 Bayer Leverkusen62 (21)
2015– Tottenham Hotspur 129 (42)
Total # of assists: 50

Total of 82 goals in 264 games = 31% GPG (19% APG)
and for NT,
Son : 2010– South Korea 79 games(24 goals)

Mahdavikia: Games Goals
1998–1999VfL Bochum (loan) 12 (3)
1999–2007 Hamburger SV 208 (26)
2007–2010 Eintracht Frankfurt 32 (0)
Total # of assists: 55

Total of 29 goals in 252 games = 12% GPG (22% APG)

and for NT,
Kia : 1996–2009 Iran 110 games (13 goals)
