WaPo article by Jason Rezaian calls the travel ban , Iran ban.

Last year, there were 17,000 students from the list of banned countries studying in American colleges and universities. More than 12,000 them were Iranian. 35,000 Iranians visited the United States on non-immigrant visas in 2015. Mind you, those numbers are a fraction of what they once were. During the 1960s, Iranians sent more students to the United States than any other country in the world.

The Supreme Court decision is yet another reminder to Iranians everywhere that they have no allies — neither in their home country’s government nor in that of the United States. The sad irony is that the travel ban plays into the hands of the clerical regime that still runs the country.

Arrests in Europe over plot to attack Iran opposition in Paris

Brussels (AFP) - Belgium, France and Germany have detained six people, including an Iranian diplomat posted in Vienna, over an alleged plot to bomb a weekend rally by an exiled Iranian opposition group in France, authorities and sources said Monday.

The apparent foiled attack was meant to have targeted a meeting of thousands of Iranian opposition supporters just north of Paris that was also attended by leading US figures, including close allies of President Donald Trump.

The developments came on the day Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Switzerland on a visit that Tehran said was of "crucial importance" for cooperation between the Islamic Republic and Europe after the US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear agreement.

Rouhani is also due to visit Austria, which currently holds the six-month presidency of the European Union.

Federal authorities in Brussels first revealed the arrests, charging a husband and wife described by prosecutors as Belgian nationals "of Iranian origin".

Amir S., 38, and Nasimeh N., 33, "are suspected of having attempted to carry out a bomb attack" on Saturday in the Paris suburb of Villepinte, during the conference organised by the People's Mujahedin of Iran, a statement from the Belgian federal prosecutor said.

ISTANBUL —
Turkey’s government Sunday issued an emergency decree dismissing thousands of public servants for alleged links to terror groups.

The decree, published in the Official Gazette, sacked 18,632 civil servants, including nearly 9,000 police officers, some 6,000 members of the military and hundreds of teachers and academics. Their passports will be canceled.

The decree is expected to be the last of a series of emergency laws as Turkey’s ruling system will fully transform into an executive presidency Monday, following last month’s elections. The Cabinet and administrative structure will be completely revamped, coming under the authority of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Sunday’s decree also reinstated 148 people previously sacked through emergency decrees, while annulling the ranks of some 1,500 retired military and police officers, depriving them of their pensions and passports.

The researchers, based at the nonpartisan Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, Calif., came across the Iranian facility shortly after a young research fellow, Fabian Hinz, proposed studying a flurry of recent Iranian state media material on General Moghaddam. He wanted to see if it contained clues as to how far Iran’s missile program had progressed before the general’s death. They found compelling evidence that Iran is developing long-range solid-fueled missile technology. One big clue was the name written on a box in a foto.. lmfao. duh!!

The Think tank, a rebranded small pro-Israel nonprofit called EMET (which is Hebrew for “truth”) into FDD, which, according to its mission, “promotes informed debate about policies and positions that most effectively end the scourge of international terrorism.” is behind Trumps push on Iran.

FDD’s chief executive is Mark Dubowitz, a former financier who was once, according to the Israeli news site Ynet, a director of international business development for DoubleClick, which later was acquired by Google. He is said to have turned to policy advocacy after 9/11.

Perhaps the most prolific member of the FDD gang is Reuel Marc Gerecht, who served as a CIA case officer from 1985 to 1994 and went on to become a contributing editor at The Weekly Standard as well as a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute before joining FDD.

Gerecht, who once quipped that he’s “written about 25,000 words about bombing Iran,” has criticizedthe Iran deal as being “as holey [sic] as Swiss cheese”;

Took 60 years for changes in Cuba.. we got 20 more to go...

unnecessary tragedy in the usa due to clear negligence.
this stuff is supposed to happen in s. east asia not missouri.

Amid storm warnings and whitecaps, 17 die – 9 from one family – when boat capsizes on Table Rock Lake

NEAR BRANSON, Mo. • Nine members of one family were killed after a tourist boat capsized on Table Rock Lake Thursday as a powerful storm moved through the area, Governor Mike Parson's office said.
Eleven members of one family were on board and only two survived, including a 13-year-old.
Sgt. Jason Pace of the Highway Patrol said the victims ranged from children, possibly as young as 1 year old, to elderly.

The boat — an amphibious passenger vehicle known as a duck boat — had carried 31 people in all. Fourteen people survived; seven of those were injured, and one of the seven had serious injuries, Pace said. The boat captain survived.
