iran and china have reportedly signed off on a draft for a
25 year strategic deal.
this has been proposed by china since 2016 but after iran
reached the jcpoa deal they gave the chinese the cold
shoulder in the misplaced trust on their 'western partners'.
but finally after more than 5 years the rouhani adminstration
have given up on that dream and are keen to finalize the
25 year strategic deal with china.according to reports china
will invest more than $250b in iran and make iran a manufacturing
hub for it's products in 'west asia'.
interestingly former president ahmadinejad has come out and
criticized the current administration for lack of transparency on
the deal and demanding details of it and an eventual referendum
by the people to approve it.
this deal if it becomes operational will shit iran for a long time into
the china-russia strategic axis and would be a crucial loss for the
'western world' or whatever is remaining of it.
