Soheil Vahedi from Iran's under-21 snooker team defeated his Singaporean rival in the Asian event in the Thai capital city Bangkok Tuesday.

Debutant Vahedi had lost in his opening match.

According to Iran's Bowling and Billiard Federation (IBBF), Iran plays Thailand, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, Iraq, Malaysia,and South Korea.

Bangkok is hosting 14 countries, which have pitted 39 teams in the Asian competitions.

Iran comprises players Amir Sarkhosh, Soheil Vahedi, Mehdi Rasekhi, and Ehsan Shafahian, coach Kamran Shahla, and head Saeid Mohtasham.

IBBF president Gholam-Reza Mehr-Abdollahi are accompanying the team.

The participating teams were divided into seven five-team and one four-team groups. The top two sides will book berths in the second round.

With five more players, the home team Thailand has the highest share.
