Mahdi jan, I wouldn't put too much weight on that site or its source. Every couple of months they write some fluff piece for the UAE to justify their salaries.

It's definitely counter-intuitive that they would give up so much and get nothing of value in return. The only way this could be true is if these Ras Musandan mountains they mention in the article have some strategic (self-preservation) value to the IR. I can't really see what that strategic importance would be, unless some of the gulf oil and gas export is currently bypassing the strait of Hormuz, hampering IR's ability to create a full and effective blockade in case of a conflict breaking out. Controlling two opposite sides of a narrow body of water militarily, obviously offers a strategic advantage to controlling only one side of it, particularly if the range of your land to sea missiles doesn't cover the full width of that body of water.

I don't take it seriously but it seems not a bad deal , they exchange those islands with a strategic location of Ras Musandam next/ back to the Hormoz Island and keep the sea bed right around those islands, no one can pass thru tange Hormoz if Iran doesn't want afterwards, Arabs must lost their mind , granting iran a land link and access to the Arabs soil, kos kholan badbakhtaa.

Iran has full control of the Islands and has loaded them with Artillery Shells. Why on earth would they give it up?

There might be at some point face saving agreement for rulers of Abu Dhabi. Something like allow folks from UAE to enter in an out without a VISA. but that's about it.

that's what daniel pipes is saying now.if true it is probably done with the blessing of the usa and is well
according to the new strategic plan of obama and his pivot to asia in making iran the strategic partner and
the security guarantor in the persian gulf.

Gaining a foothold on the main peninsula is probably not bad. According to this questionable source, the deal gives the sea bed rights around the islands to Iran and the land itself to UAE. So essentially it means no boat will be able to enter or leave those islands without Iranian permission?

In any case, given current issues between Rowhani and Majlis, I don't see Majlis approving such a deal. There are constitutional implications too (one of the articles in IRI constitution says no part of Iran can be given or traded with another country).

The whole thing on this site appears to be propaganda.

Iran already has BandAbbas on Strait of Hormuz. It is only 180 KM across From BandarAbbas to UAE and BandarAbbas across the Strait and Iran has pretty good artillery coverage over that narrow passage.

That is probably the only reason why The U.S did not attack Iran in the past eight Years. so a Swap for an Island on the Strait would not really make a lot of sense.

by The Way Tunb Small and Tunb Great and closer to the Iranian Shore than UAE side.

Iran embassy issues statement on fabricated claims on 3 Persian Gulf islands
Tehran, Jan 18, IRNA – Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi said the news carried by some Arab sites regarding the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf were baseless and fabricated.
[Iran embassy issues statement on fabricated claims on 3 Persian Gulf islands]

The statement stressed that the websites which lack any kind of credibility and reliability embarked on disseminating unreal and fabricated stories to create a negative atmosphere.

It said the websites were indeed trying to buy themselves a status through such absolutely unprofessional act.

The statement said that the Persian Gulf and its synonyms in other languages are the most genius names remaining from the oldest resources dated back to centuries before Christ in all languages and literatures.

It noted that some of the Persian Gulf littoral sheikhdoms and their puppet media are using fabricated titles instead of the Persian Gulf.
