What I wanna know is how Iran managed to win it in the midst of war and without any functional sporting organizations in 1983! Wrestling was pretty serious back then. It wasn't the Micky-mouse bullshit that it has become now.

That is a good question and myself as a die hard wrestling fan back to my time in Iran, i didn't know we won it in 1983 in GR! Specially considering GR was a field we never were a world power in senior level before, we started to shine in GR in last 10 years or so!

Btw, Iran finished 3rd in FS with a silver and two bronze, not a really great result.

Anyway, the Senior World championship will be held in about 3 weeks in France.
