Iran is a fucked up country. The reason for him being suspended is a joke seriously. He did not shake Bohranis hand after being subbed off and he gets suspended, could there be a stupider decision than this one. especially considering esteghlal are in asian champions league qualifying and need him badly.

Jabbari is a great player and an important one (especially for this week) but his behaviour really brought on this reaction. If they didn't ban him people would say "only in Iran will a player get away with it", if they do ban him people will still say "these idiots are banning their best player". Damned if you do or don't.

The timing wasnt right. u dont ban ur best(and most intelligent) player of the squad during imp ACL matches. but as Shahriar said, now GHN has a great excuse to blame his team shortcomings on absence of Jabbari!

LOL, that's gotta be the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. GN would want to use Jabbari and would rather not have the excuse. Only from an Arsenal fan...who cheers for Tottenham LOL.

Timing is not great...but it was Jabbari's timing, no one elses.

hehe yeah GHN wants to use Jabbari thats why they banned him ahead of their crucial ACL games and not after these games!!!

funny how all of a sudden ES fans leaders call for Jabbari to leave the team and consider Borhani, a striker(GHN's sub for him) more qualified than him as a midfielder!! the same so called fans who sweared at Hejazi in trainings and asked for GHN last season!
ma haloo nistim..

Thats not how these things work, and you know it. You don't ban a player two games later for something he's done now. That would defeat the purpose.

Jabbari was out of place in what he did. The coach subbed him out, and he should respect that decision whether he holds it to be the correct one or not. Who ever made this call is right in what he's doing. No one player can be bigger than the team, and no one player can run around acting like this, and the players need to know that.

Well, I retract my last post...this is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while.

So GN purposely wants to omit Jabbari so that he can have an excuse to lose? LOL

When is he supposed to be banned? A year later in pre-season so it has no effect on the team?

Since you've played football on playstation only, I'll just advise: what Jabbari did is quite disgraceful. He disrespected his fellow teammate, his team and his coach. No player is above reproach for that kind of behaviour. Not Messi, not Gerrard, not Fabregas...nobody.

And people are still surprised at the state of Iranian football. When idol-worship and concentration of the self go above team-work and appreciation of others, there is no mystery why we are where we are. And some of our fans are just a reflection of that.

Really disappointed at that bullshit reply - pardon my french.

I think instead of all this speculations and assumptions, Jabari and GN should both come to 90 and tell their side of the story for their decisions!

None of us here know what really went on, besides the actual incident of him getting subbed out which we all saw with our eyes... but that's just on the surface... let's not be so quick to judge!

actually...it's more the other way round. most players are pissed when they get subbed out after bad games..so what that he refused the hand shake? usually you sit down with the player and talk it out. but yeah, good idea, kick the one player you had built your whole team around out of the team. :D

excellent..

This is such a load of crap. Had the club take no action at all, the same people critizing this decision would be saying that players need to be repremanded for such actions, and that in Esteghlal players do whatever they please.

Its dissapointing to see that Iranian football fans can't judge anything objectively. What Jabbari did was disrespectful at best, and disgraceful at worst. Anybody that thinks what he did was ok, or that he should'nt be punished for such actions, just has another agenda.

I don't know who those people are....I wouldn't for once say such a thing. To me it's always a matter of talking things out, specially if the player is the central piece of your team.

A major problem in Iranian football is that people can't talk things out...

Anyway, GN really blew this one....

There's nothing to talk out. Jabbari exited the field metres away from Borhani who was waiting to get a handshake in. But Jabbari ignored Borhani and the rest of the team and left the field.

No matter where, even if forgiven, a player who does that has to serve a ban. It's what every respectable coach/institution does. No one is above the team. If Jabbari truly appreciates that, he'll know he deserves the punishment and take it on the chin.

Whether it's favourable to Esteghlal or not is irrelevant. Obviously, I am sure most teams would not do this before a final, as they wouldn't want to be too harsh, but they usually do it for the next game. And our next game just happens to be against Jazeera.

But compounding that, and saying something as stupid as "GN wants an excuse to lose" is adding insult to injury. GN wants to win, and his best chance is with Jabbari on the field. Only someone warped and biased would claim that Esteghlal actually devised this and are happy with it.
