got to visit this exhibit today.
unfortunately only works of overseas iranian artists are exhibited.
the multi-media exhibit was particularly interesting.see the clip below.
the exhibit runs until sept. 9.

Thanks! Who did that Zoorkhane painting again? Do they draw a link between Saqqa-Khaneh and current artists (how is the curating?)? Thought about ordering the catalog but if it's not well curated, it's kind of pointless.

i think that's by farhad moshiri.
don't know about the link you mention.
the curator is linda komaroff.
as far as I could see, there was also some piece by Parviz Tanavoli exhibited. As you know, he was part of Saqqa Khaneh, the art movement that kind of birthed Iranian modern art. Was wondering if they draw a line from that to the exhibition of current artists and its influence or something, or if it's rather deymi.

i know of tanavoli through his metal sculptures.they had some of his works but
not the very famous ones.this is one of them,lion and the sun 1976.



and the setup for the gordafarid(see the clip) installation was not by him,even though it looks like his work.
it's actually done by a dubai based artist,yasmin sinai.
as i mentioned all the pieces exhibited came from outside iran.no work from artists working in
iran was on display for this show due to travel restrictions.
