Iran are in Pool E and came back from two sets down to defeat Cuba 3-2 in the first match.
Iran play Mexico tomorrow and Russia on Sunday.

Thankfully far from over, still few more chances for Iran to qualify ie winning 2019 Asian Championship(held in Iran) or qualifying through AVC Tokyo Volleyball Tournament.

the asian championship is being played in tehran.
semis between iran and korea.
as usual koreans prove their short fuse reputation and their
little libero guy walks under the net into iran side to pick a fight
and gets shoved off like a fly.both players got a red card.
action starts around minute 4:30.
iran won 3-1 and will play australia in the final.

russia has been suspended in all sports for 4 years.
that means their football team will miss wc2022 and
their volleyball team will miss the 2020 olympics.
iran was in the group with russia and placed second so
theoretically iran should get the berth now.
