My strange obsession with Spain

Ah well, we have to go back to the beginning.

Lesson one:

Football is a game played when you use your feet to play the ball. It is not a game of physical strength and kicking your opponents in the chest or breaking their legs.
Whoever can play better with the ball at their feet is playing football. This is also the main reason there is grass on the ground.
This is why football is called the beautiful game.

Now kid, come back tomorrow for lesson two when you take a break from watching that American stuff where the point is to bump into each other as hard as you can.

Correction one:

no, soccer wasnt invented and even played up until 20 years ago as just a girly skill game like volleyball ! it was pretty much a physical game. The greatest players in history were the toughest players as well. People like CR, messi, pedro, iniesta or xavi had no chane on the field.

Now I do recon being a short fragile iranian you may like soccer to be nothing else but a circus show of those who can do tricks the best but this should not be the case. The sport should have remained manly and should have a strong physical component to it. but I guess you love a circus show played by girls

The greatest players in history, Leonidas, Garincha, Didi, Pele, Zico, Maradona, Cruyf, George Best, Stanley Mathews ....were NOT physical players. In fact some of them were small and skinny.

They were technicians. The ball stuck to their feet. They played the ball on the grass with a certain kind of skill and penache that you identify as girly but anyone else who appreciates and understands the game calls it football, the beautiful game.

Unless you want to change the history and tell us these guys weren't the greats!!!!

Maybe you have a different set of greats that the rest of the world didn't know? Tell us.

So ask yourself why they could thrash England and Argentina playing counter attack but not Spain.
for many reasons you dont understand! including the fact that when they stepped onthe field they did not believe they were better than spain as opposed to against arg or eng for mahy reasons. One of the reasons was that many of these players were on bayern when they were thrashed by the same players against barca 7-1 ! phsycology is huge in big games.

Another reason is that Germany's first clear chance against argentina and england was a goal !!!! the rest was just routine, game was won at that time already

this did not happen against spain simply because the ball did not roll their way that day against spain ! simple as that ! had nothing to do with spain being so much better than argentina and you dont understand this !

The most clearcut chance of the game fell to kroos, he hits it at casillas, it was saved, had it gone in spain would be done with more goals we all know, but that time it did not go in. Just the way game goas on a particular day.

InDaMoneyZ, educate yourself about what Total Football is. Just do a search on Wikipedia and read about it. It will help you understand what it is.

Or just read, Cryuff's latest on Spain and Holland and that would also help you understand who played anti-football and who played total-football.

I think the problem is your lack of understanding of Total Football.

Another way you can improve your understanding: Also, pay attention to where the players of the 2 teams are on the entire field, when one team has the ball near their own goal and as the ball is played around the field.
stop BSing yourself, spain is the lowest scoring team in history of soccer! they also lost against swiss in the same tournament and lost to USA last year 2-0 in confed! a team first and foremost needs to create and capitalize on chances, everything else including posession is pure meaningless stat. Spain just got lucky, thats all. Dutch were the better team creating better chance before the OT,we all saw

maradonna, zico, zidane, matheuss, kaiser, pushkas, garinsha, kempes, ...were some of the most physicall players ever sa they could punichment like no other! these players were targeted week in week out, go read zico and maraonna's bio, and they had to endure that punshment in every match, they were not protected like girls by refs back then, no chance iniesta, pedro, xavis of the world could take the type of punichment these other players could take, you dont know what you are clueless

So let me get this straight:

Any team that played against Spain, just didn't have the ball rolling in their favour. England and Argentina lost to Germany because Germany scored the first goal early and Spain beat Germany because Barca thrashed Bayern 7-1 :D

Dude, you have given the words "understanding" and "logic" new meaning!!!

Congratulations :D

Baazam harfe birabt. There is a reason why the game is 90 minutes. If you have enough quality, you dont get thrashed like that if you get behind that early. Basically its still much better to be down by one after 3 minutes than to concede the first goal after 75 minutes. For obvious reasons or isnt it that obvious to you? :)

What is a team worth if they give it up after 3 minutes of play? Khodetam motvajeh nisti ke bishtar be teamaat daari zarbe mizani taa inke azashoon defaa koni. Is this your big team? getting behind after 3 minutes and stop playing football? What about those 87 minutes left on the clock? Routine? loooool yani harki ke bade 3 daghighe gole avalo khord jam kone bere peye kaaresh? hehe

Kid, this one has been the first football tournement you have followed alittle bit. You are still a complete illiterate in this regard.

IDM,

Listen kiddo, I posted you some links to a number of articles written by English football analysts and ex-pros all of whom know infinitely more about the game than you. All of them insist that England lost because they are years behind the rest of the world, the likes of Spain and Germany. Did you even read them? Or do you think you know better?

But all you have to offer in terms of analysis of the England performance is that they lost because Germany scored early :D

I mean you have a very naive and superficial understanding of football. Any 12 year old kid on the playground can do a more sensible analysis than this.

you know nothing about the game or its history, just keep reading. some posts refer to spain as the greatest team ever and some as worst ! just to show the variance in opinion which you know nothing about.

scoring early in such tournaments specialy between two equal teams is extremely decisive, its nothing you would understand! it is very rare when one strong team would come back against another strong team to win! and yet england almost did it!

You are so ridiculous you dont even realize it. The problem was not quality of english players against germany! if it was then Argentina would have bigger quality problems than England against the same opponents wouldnt' they !!!LOLLLLLLLLLL :4::4::4:

you know nothing about this game, please pick another sport and stop wasting my time! and remove that avatar you are a disgrace to it
