Yeah, some of them are over the top but you can find pictures and stories from any past era that look out of date today. The fact is the todays commercials have not fundamentally changed who they are targeting. It is just not as coarse. EVERY laundry detergent commercial has women in them. Vacuum cleaners are often shown operated by women to prove they can be used by even the weakest of us. Kids who are in pain and fever are tended to by the loving mom. The list goes on.
