Problem with the Iranian society that I believe a major cause of backwardness of Iran

From above, one can question, what does Iran do to its people that are different,
and more importantly,
what do people following Islam do to the people that are under their control?

I wonder which idiot inserted this into Middle School Books in the shah era - must have been an akhoond like the Iran_phobist Seyed Hossein Nasr. I wonder if it still is in the school texts.......It means: The hell with individualism, be like others, do as others do.

Shah gave too much free hand to the akhoonds. If he was tough like his father, the Islamists would be washing the public toilets rather than ruling the country. Reza Shah did say that his son would give away the country.

Back to the original thread, individuality is a threat to the average mind. The entire middle east and the Arab and Islamic world are so deep in it, that almost the entire populations are sheep and they destroy any individuals to come out. Thus Islam and Muhammad's idea can continue to flourish.
