The Tri Nations is an international rugby union competition that is contested annually by Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The competition is organized by SANZAR, a consortium formed by the three countries' rugby governing bodies – the Australian Rugby Union, the New Zealand Rugby Union and the South African Rugby Union. These three teams have dominated international rankings in recent years and some consider the Tri Nations to be the toughest competition in international rugby.[1]
The Tri Nations will become the Four Nations in 2012 should the inclusion of Argentina as the fourth team go ahead. Argentina has been invited to join but there are a number of conditions that they have to fulfill.[2]
The series is played on a home-and-away basis. From the first tournament in 1996 through 2005, the three teams played each other twice. Since then, each team has played the others three times, except in the Rugby World Cup year of 2007 when the series reverted to a double round-robin. Since the inception of the series the games played between Australia and New Zealand also go toward determining the winner of the Bledisloe Cup each year. The Freedom Cup is contested between New Zealand and South Africa, and the Mandela Challenge Plate between Australia and South Africa.

it's true NZ was very good this year , you know here this race issue is ridicilus , it mixed with every thing , football is black sport and rugby is white, coach under so much pressure has to put fixed percentage of the players black and exactly in the team those parts were the weakest parts due to the lack of experience of black people

I think next year NZ is going to achieve big in RWC

now just we should wait for the next year worldcup...

South Africa beat Australia 44-31 to secure its first win in this year’s Tri-Nations rugby tournament.
Juan Smith, Gurthro Steenkamp, Pierre Spies, Francois Steyn and JP Pietersen all touched down as the Springboks, who lost the first four games of their title defense, ran in five tries to four at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. Morne Steyn kicked 14 points for the home team.
South Africa’s first victory moved it off the bottom of the standings, one point above Australia. New Zealand last week sealed a record-extending 10th southern hemisphere championship with a victory over the Springboks in Soweto.
James O’Connor scored two tries and Matt Giteau kicked 11 points for the Wallabies, whose only win came against the Springboks in Brisbane on July 24.
South Africa and Australia meet again next week in Bloemfontein before the Wallabies host the All Blacks in Sydney on Sept. 11 in the tournament’s final game.

Australia Beats South Africa 41-39 in Tri-Nations on Final Kick by Beale

Kurtley Beale’s penalty goal on the final kick of the game gave Australia a 41-39 win over South Africa in rugby’s Tri-Nations tournament.
Beale’s kick gave Australia its first victory over the Springboks on South Africa’s Highveld since 1963 and lifted the Wallabies to 10 points, guaranteeing a second-place finish behind champion New Zealand. The All-Blacks have won their opening five games to seal a record-extending 10th southern hemisphere championship.
Australia led 31-6 in the first half before South Africa scored 30 conscutive points to go in front with 11 minutes left. The Wallabies regained the lead 39-38 in the 77th minute and Beale then won it with his 55-meter (60-yard) kick.
The Wallabies outscored the Springboks five tries to three, while Matt Giteau kicked 13 points. Morne Steyne kicked 24 points for South Africa. Australia hosts New Zealand in the final game of this year’s Tri-Nations in Sydney on Sept. 11.
