It has nothing to do with politics. If CQ wants him he will be in the list. He didn't want to play that day and you could see it.

certain laws of my homeland requires me to watch some of the games from the TV vs my presence on the field for the club. BTW I also need a raise next year or I be gone.

I still fully support him, did what he could.

The title was basically saying don't make a hero or zeros out of people. On this board people were praising Shojaie and shitting on Hajsafi whereas both looked out for their own interests just like any of us would.

Oh com'n there is a huge difference between what Shojaei said and Hajsafi. After playing, Hajsafi wrote a "tobeh nameh" with all the praise for Khamenieee, etc. While Shojaei took ppl, and thanked them for their support during that incident.
What Shojaei is doing is that he explains the process. Sure, it shows it wasnt like he intentionally wanted to play to break the taboo, but he never apologize for it too. Its still very diff than Hajsafi's suck up case!

I agree with both Niloufar and ZA. He didn't do as bad as Hajsafi but not a hero either. Problem is the titles are thrown as if they are nokhod loobia! From military ranks in Sepah (har goozi sarhang o sardar shodeh) ta Ostooreh va legend va hero.
