Couple of months ago, I came across the name of this book where Extreme lefties had gotten into argument with a Historial author who has penned detailed events of Shah era leading to revolution, where in part showed the support of Fadayeaan and lefties leading up to 1979 revolution.
Its almost 500 pages but over 50 pages of list of sources/interviews the author has done. The author is a historian himself, and has penned the most detailed quotes and information that a lot of us and our parents' generations didnt know.
I highly recommend reading this book guys:

Couple of things which were interesting to know:
-Banisadr was a son of hozeye Elmie mullah.
- There were 2 shia religious leaders who were strongly against khomeini and his extremist ideas: Sadr in Iraq, and Shariatmadari in Iran who kept warming Shah about him, which were ignored. About a year before revolution, Sadr was assassinated in a plot in Libya with the order of khomeini. Gaddafi was also the ally of khomeini while he was in exile.
- Yaser Arafat and his Palestinian group and MEK (Mojahedin) were the military arm of khomeini before Revolution that caused Rex cinema fire, setting banks and govt buildings on fire around the country and many more.
-Iraq's Saddam Hossein and even Jordan had offered support and warning to Shah and military to crush the revolutionaries or assasinate khomeini when he was in Iraq, before it gets late, and Shah would rebuff it by saying, "I cannot sully my hands with the blood of my people."
Overall it showed how too sensitive and loving Shah was towards all the people, even violent revolutionaries and Farah was a much more logical person in the kingdom, but every message she was relaying to from aides and world leaders, Shah would ignore it to not cause violence on people.
Also, USA which had noticed the weakness in leadership by Shah in the last few yrs, had started supporting Khomeini and Bazargan in secret. And Khomeini being the smartie, knew that his house in exile would be wiretapped so he'd write his extremist ideologies in notes and would relay it to Banisadr and Yazdi.
Its a very interesting and informative read. Highly recommend it guys.
