Its very hard to judge this sort of behaviour. Yes, when you are emotionally unattached, the behaviour of this sort of "lynching mob" seems abhorrent. It can only be the work of crazed animals right? Well before we pass judgement allow me to borrow your imaginations for a couple of moments. Imagine, for a minute that this was Iran, not Lybia! Imagine the captured man was not Gaddafi, but Khamenei, or Ahmadinejad, or Rafsanjani or indeed anyone else in the current Iranian regime. Imagine the lynching mob was made up of Neda Agha Soltan's family members, or indeed family members of anyone raped, tortured and/or killed by the brutal regime in Iran over the past few decades. Would you be more sympathetic towards the lynching mob then, or equally as scathing?
Not for a moment am I condoning the actions of the lynching mob here. I'm simply not passing judgement on them. knowing full well that I won't necessarilly be in control of my actions if I ever got my hands on the likes of Khamenei, AN or even some of the Hezi sympathisers, how can I judge these guys?
anyway food for thought....
