Amazing, 7 years pass by, it is still impossible to argue with you. Look up cultural marxists and Marxism, then see whether anyone from NYT, especially anyone from the editorial board, is leftist or marxist. Seriously.
Most of the mainstream media engages in identity politics regarding egalitarian values - this is cultural marxism. You are talking to someone who actually studied law, governance and philosophy. I am not stating that to appeal to authority, but it is clear you have a severe misunderstanding of what leftist values are if you haven't seen it on American media in the last 20 years (at least). You are too concerned with political representations rather than actual reality. A lot of people consider symbols of things for their replacement because they are intellectually lazy. One big example that we have discussed on this forum before is Reagan.
Then they are not leftist but hezbe bad. The same way to your argument, you could say Trump is a leftist because he supports national protectionism. But he isn't. Which takes us to the point that you have no idea what a leftist is, not even in 2017, but just like to throw around labels.
Leftists are hezbe bad. That's the point. They try to appeal to people via groups. They don't have consistent rationale and end up in a purity contest in which they shoot their own. That's why at one point they pretend they are for feminism yet at the same time bash women who use their femininity for gain. Trump is a centrist/populist. He doesn't really have consistent political ideals either.
That's also why liberal is distinguished with leftist and is actually more to the middle - because you can be liberal and not to the left on certain issues. Easy peasy, buddy.
No, you just have no idea about the meaning of what Marxism is. The term you use, "cultural marxism" is also a conspiracy theory that the Frankfurt School wants to destroy western hegemony. Hardly something people like David Brooks or Fareed Zakaria support, as they are modern centrist liberals at best, and have as an example the type of people the Frankfurt School criticised. Read Adorno and then talk about cultural marxism.
You don't know what leftist means mate or you don't want to know - you refer to Zakaria (
funnily enough) or Brooks as if by representing the exception it blows the rule out of the water. You aren't living in reality and haven't been for a long time which is why you probably have close to 200k posts across the internet regurgitating the same nonsense (and as insulting as I am sure you will find that, you know it is the truth, you are trying to manipulate the real world by spamming nonsense online).
It's not a conspiracy theory: gender pay gap is just one small example. Just google it and see how mainstream that lie is.
well wishing lunatic Babat Ron Paule.
Did you watch the Sanders-Cruz debate? That was an embarrassment for even Bernie supporters - which,
of course, you are one.
Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about. I guess you have been hanging out the past 7 years in worse circles than before. Here's a challenge:
Find an article online by Thomas Friedman or David Brooks or anyone else from the editorial board of NYT that reflects anything Adorno has said or is in any shape or form marxist.
If you can't find anything, then please shut the fuck up and stop bothering me.
Thanks!
Haha, this is hilarious. You are going to talk down to me on these subjects that you have absolutely no formal education for. You can say what you want, but make sense.
I don't have to find an article by the editorial board of NYT to reflect something Adorno has said. Not only am I talking about the media wider than the paremeters you've conveniently created for yourself (as if the entire media is the NYT) but cultural marxism is broader than just the Frankfurt school or Adorno (as if he was the only notable theorist). When you make statements like this it is obvious you don't know what you're talking about and have simply learned to argue via narratives your side holds. It's obvious because you don't actually address any issues - and you haven't since I posted in this thread. It's like one side saying "damn, Esteghlal killed Perspolis" and replying "6taish ghashange". It only impresses the idiotic, already converted, who are trying to escape reality. It looks like I have to go back to this classic

This overly politically correct faction of the left, particularly in mainstream culture, is a direct cause of cultural marxist ideas. That you can ignore the content of the character of the individual and seek to shape society as a way of creating equality amongst groups.
The irony is, I didn't even have to search long:
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/02/opinion/donald-trump-voters-just-hear-me-out.html
What he espouses in this piece are fabrications based on politically correct hysteria re Trump based on gender, race and income. I will let you break it down yourself where he says that because if you can't recognise where he is doing it then I may as well be talking to a wall. In this article he is saying: don't worry that Clinton was caught cheating in the nominations or that she deleted 33,000 emails, AFTER she got subpoenaed; she is better than the racist, rich, sexist, idiot called Trump, so vote for her instead. :8:
All you have to do is look around, it's everywhere and it is unabashed. Meryl Streep doesn't get up talking absolute rubbish, and the media doesn't paint Trump out as a racist, homophobe, anti-semite, etc, if they weren't concerned with identity politics. We are now debating what is in front of our very eyes
