Another blow in Trump presidency, the health care bill was rejected despite the GOP owning the government.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/27/politics/donald-trump-presidency-future/index.html

In one sense, it should not be surprising that Trump is struggling. He is the most inexperienced new president in history, and lacks the political networks and insider contacts that most commanders-in-chief take for granted when they take office.

Today, I heard the sad news that the children in Syria were exposed to chemical weapon once again ... I saw those images and movies and just shook me. Having a 1-year old, I just couldn't look @ the images without the tears coming down. I kept saying why ?

Then I saw Trump said that it is all Obama's fault and that is it ... So much I hate this man !!

Obama is responsible for what is happening, certainly to an extent. The vacuum that was created by America retracting its military presence is a direct cause for the rise of ISIS and what we are saying today. Obama basically ignored all military personnel and many in his administration by not staying.

---

As an aside, you can tell who is informed or not by which headlines they're getting pissed off about. Trump may or may not be a good President but he beat the establishment and he continues to beat them. The media in America - which is extremely leftist - no longer has the trust it once had.

They are at best liberal, which is not being left. The Nation is the only left weekly. NY Times editorial board is full of Neocons like Friedman and David Brooks and hawkish liberal morons like Kristof. They are against Trump because he is against them, not because of their ideology.

Also, ISIS and Al-Qaida got strong in Syria because US actively supported them.

They're not liberal. Well, at least not what it used to mean - or usually meant. The most accurate term would be leftists. The delusional socialists, interventionists, social justice warriors, or...to sum up in a phrase...people who deny reality and seek to create their own.

And they're not just a little leftist, they are overwhelmingly leftist. The way they have lied about Trump and stoked the fires have all been based on leftist talking points re race, economics, sexism, or even gender equality. And their apologistic stance for everything Obama did also speaks to that fact.

Think about it for half a second and you know it to be true: which Republican in the last 16 years (at least) wasn't a racist, sexist, homophobe, etc? These are people who are not interested in discussing reality and will use suggestions - and outright lies - to rile people up. Clinton got caught trying to steal the nomination from Bernie as she got the questions ahead of time by Donna Brazille (who was fired and later hired by the DNC) and all the left talks about is Russia. For months, Russia and yet no proof and ironically what has come out is the surveillance the Obama administration was undertaking even when Trump wasn't in power.

I doubt a lot of people here really keep close tabs - as I don't remember much discussion re politics in this forum ever did - but there is an ongoing and increasing movement where even the liberals are not on board with what is happening and are seeking to distance themselves by calling themselves classical liberals. The Democrat party has been losing local, state and federal seats and the Republicans basically have all the power now. This has been a long time coming for those that don't live in LA or NY and who are alive to reality.

I'd also have to say that someone like myself before the election thought Trump would be Hitler II until I started doing my due diligence and following these stories closely. It is a severe wake up call people are continuously having. The media is lying every single day, it's crazy to wake up in a world where you cannot trust long-trusted media conglomerates - and some refuse to wake up to it because it makes them feel safe.

It is why online media has become so important and why traditional MSM is attacking online media - this is partly why there is a whole fake news controversy. They are now trying to use their influence to demonetise many Youtube content creators who were at the forefront for exposing all these lies.

Well, they are not leftist either. Not even close to being leftist. If they are not liberal by what it used to mean, then they are not leftist either, not even closely leftist. They supported Hillary over Sanders in the election. They are "centrist" at best. They support American exceptionalism, which is anything but left. They support the war on Syria, they supported the war on Iraq, they support Israel over Palestine etc.. Google it. NY Times was pro Iraq war. They are just scam, but not leftist.

And they're not just a little leftist, they are overwhelmingly leftist. The way they have lied about Trump and stoked the fires have all been based on leftist talking points re race, economics, sexism, or even gender equality. They are not leftist just for being against Trump. If so, Lindsay Graham and McCain would be left too. Gender equality is also not limited to the left. Netanyahu is also strongly pro LGBT and far from left. There is a term called pink washing.

I really don't care about all that stuff and don't care about Trump either. It's not true to call MSM in the US "left". Except for The Nation, none of them is left and The Nation is not mainstream.

Yes the democratic party is a scam. But they are not left. They have politicians who are leftist or close to the left, but they are far from the mainstream. The mainstream of the Democratic party is center at best and supports traditional centrist positions Republicans held even under Reagan and Nixon.

Not a fan but ANYTHING IS BETTER BETTER THAN HILLARY aka Obama v 2.0 I like his anti Haji policies though, I am all for that, it does not apply to me so have at it Mr. President. All of you Mohammadans, head East for Sharia, this country's direction is changing but there are some positives, not going to lie. Keep my country pure and hajis out, you can go to Sweden or Germany(well, that one hurts a bit so don't go to Germany FICH Merkel reeden Socialist CDU.

Just like capitalism, the political system is purely dominated by cronyism. The proper term for both political preferences should include the word "crony" as a pretext; Crony-liberalism and Crony-conservatism. This is why both parties end up looking frustratingly centrist to their supporters once elected. This cronyism finds its way down the body of the ideology-holders too. People's judgement is highly selective based on their immediate feelings and how their passions are affected. In a world of "Every fucking child is special" this creates the clusterfuck we're in today.

Donald Trump slightly (only slightly) shifted the balance away from cronyism. Doesn't look like he's winning much ground though. There's simply no tolerance for his bolder stance in Washington and among the media.

People are fed up though. I would say 99% of them don't know what they're fed up with, but they're fed up. It will be at least a few decades (centuries?) of blame-shifting before anything substantial materializes in either direction (collectivism vs. individualism). By all accounts, collectivism is winning (and winning big), but wars will always disrupt this pattern, and there will be plenty of wars.

well said! Hillary's camp was throwing parties for hedge fund managers and suburbian big landowners and not bothering about anyone else. US democracy was about members of an elite getting elected by the power of the elite.

Yes they are, they are the epitome of leftist. They are cultural marxists as well as socialists on the large part. These are the SJW/Progressive types which make a huge part of the Democratic party. Liberals aren't on the left on all issues which is why they're not on the left to the same degree - many liberals are small government and fiscally conservative.

The media, hollywood, etc, are all clearly leftist. But you do make a good point re the wars: it shows you they are leftist when it suits them. In reality, they are corporatists who like the establishment. You create a stronger establishment when you can monitor everyone's dollars and words and that is when they are extremely leftist.

They are not leftist just for being against Trump. If so, Lindsay Graham and McCain would be left too. Gender equality is also not limited to the left. Netanyahu is also strongly pro LGBT and far from left. There is a term called pink washing.
For two decades they've been cultural marxists and have advocated government expansion, they're clearly leftist. I think you need to brush up on the meaning of these words.

I really don't care about all that stuff and don't care about Trump either. It's not true to call MSM in the US "left". Except for The Nation, none of them is left and The Nation is not mainstream.
All the media aren't leftists, but a grand majority of them are and they control the narrative. They are more or less situated in NY or LA and regurgitate the echo chamber of the blue side. The Trump hysteria is ample evidence. There have been so many lies it's hard to keep up any more. These issues have almost all been based on leftist talking points.

Yes the democratic party is a scam. But they are not left. They have politicians who are leftist or close to the left, but they are far from the mainstream. The mainstream of the Democratic party is center at best and supports traditional centrist positions Republicans held even under Reagan and Nixon.
They are leftists, whether you are talking about the corporatist faction backing Hillary or the progressives backing Sanders. There's little difference between them other than the fact that Sanders is a well-wishing lunatic whereas Clinton is a bought and paid for lunatic.

Free market capitalism is not cronyism. It's the very antithesis of it. Once there is cronyism you have left capitalist ideals and are now building up a State that has favors to sell.

Amazing, 7 years pass by, it is still impossible to argue with you. Look up cultural marxists and Marxism, then see whether anyone from NYT, especially anyone from the editorial board, is leftist or marxist. Seriously.

it shows you they are leftist when it suits them. In reality, they are corporatists who like the establishment. You create a stronger establishment when you can monitor everyone's dollars and words and that is when they are extremely leftist.
Then they are not leftist but hezbe bad. The same way to your argument, you could say Trump is a leftist because he supports national protectionism. But he isn't. Which takes us to the point that you have no idea what a leftist is, not even in 2017, but just like to throw around labels.

For two decades they've been cultural marxists and have advocated government expansion, they're clearly leftist. I think you need to brush up on the meaning of these words.
No, you just have no idea about the meaning of what Marxism is. The term you use, "cultural marxism" is also a conspiracy theory that the Frankfurt School wants to destroy western hegemony. Hardly something people like David Brooks or Fareed Zakaria support, as they are modern centrist liberals at best, and have as an example the type of people the Frankfurt School criticised. Read Adorno and then talk about cultural marxism.

They are leftists, whether you are talking about the corporatist faction backing Hillary or the progressives backing Sanders. There's little difference between them other than the fact that Sanders is a well-wishing lunatic whereas Clinton is a bought and paid for lunatic.

Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about. I guess you have been hanging out the past 7 years in worse circles than before. Here's a challenge:

Find an article online by Thomas Friedman or David Brooks or anyone else from the editorial board of NYT that reflects anything Adorno has said or is in any shape or form marxist.

If you can't find anything, then please shut the fuck up and stop bothering me.

Thanks!

They simply dont get it because they are not literate about these issues. They never cared to read about socialism, marxism...so the level of their knowledge about "left" is very low and is based on cheap political propaganda rather than deep and substantial literacy. The leftiest of the left for a lot of americans was Obama which always made me laugh because it would be a blasphemy for any literate or dedicated socialist. lol
After the political crack down of communists and leftist in the USA, the left basically became nonexistent on the US political map. There is no such a
think like "left" in the US anymore.

Most of the mainstream media engages in identity politics regarding egalitarian values - this is cultural marxism. You are talking to someone who actually studied law, governance and philosophy. I am not stating that to appeal to authority, but it is clear you have a severe misunderstanding of what leftist values are if you haven't seen it on American media in the last 20 years (at least). You are too concerned with political representations rather than actual reality. A lot of people consider symbols of things for their replacement because they are intellectually lazy. One big example that we have discussed on this forum before is Reagan.

Then they are not leftist but hezbe bad. The same way to your argument, you could say Trump is a leftist because he supports national protectionism. But he isn't. Which takes us to the point that you have no idea what a leftist is, not even in 2017, but just like to throw around labels.
Leftists are hezbe bad. That's the point. They try to appeal to people via groups. They don't have consistent rationale and end up in a purity contest in which they shoot their own. That's why at one point they pretend they are for feminism yet at the same time bash women who use their femininity for gain. Trump is a centrist/populist. He doesn't really have consistent political ideals either.

That's also why liberal is distinguished with leftist and is actually more to the middle - because you can be liberal and not to the left on certain issues. Easy peasy, buddy.

No, you just have no idea about the meaning of what Marxism is. The term you use, "cultural marxism" is also a conspiracy theory that the Frankfurt School wants to destroy western hegemony. You don't know what leftist means mate or you don't want to know - you refer to Zakaria (funnily enough) or Brooks as if by representing the exception it blows the rule out of the water. You aren't living in reality and haven't been for a long time which is why you probably have close to 200k posts across the internet regurgitating the same nonsense (and as insulting as I am sure you will find that, you know it is the truth, you are trying to manipulate the real world by spamming nonsense online).

It's not a conspiracy theory: gender pay gap is just one small example. Just google it and see how mainstream that lie is.

well wishing lunatic Babat Ron Paule.
Did you watch the Sanders-Cruz debate? That was an embarrassment for even Bernie supporters - which, of course, you are one.

Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about. I guess you have been hanging out the past 7 years in worse circles than before. Here's a challenge:

Haha, this is hilarious. You are going to talk down to me on these subjects that you have absolutely no formal education for. You can say what you want, but make sense.

I don't have to find an article by the editorial board of NYT to reflect something Adorno has said. Not only am I talking about the media wider than the paremeters you've conveniently created for yourself (as if the entire media is the NYT) but cultural marxism is broader than just the Frankfurt school or Adorno (as if he was the only notable theorist). When you make statements like this it is obvious you don't know what you're talking about and have simply learned to argue via narratives your side holds. It's obvious because you don't actually address any issues - and you haven't since I posted in this thread. It's like one side saying "damn, Esteghlal killed Perspolis" and replying "6taish ghashange". It only impresses the idiotic, already converted, who are trying to escape reality. It looks like I have to go back to this classic

This overly politically correct faction of the left, particularly in mainstream culture, is a direct cause of cultural marxist ideas. That you can ignore the content of the character of the individual and seek to shape society as a way of creating equality amongst groups.

The irony is, I didn't even have to search long:

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/02/opinion/donald-trump-voters-just-hear-me-out.html

What he espouses in this piece are fabrications based on politically correct hysteria re Trump based on gender, race and income. I will let you break it down yourself where he says that because if you can't recognise where he is doing it then I may as well be talking to a wall. In this article he is saying: don't worry that Clinton was caught cheating in the nominations or that she deleted 33,000 emails, AFTER she got subpoenaed; she is better than the racist, rich, sexist, idiot called Trump, so vote for her instead. :8:

All you have to do is look around, it's everywhere and it is unabashed. Meryl Streep doesn't get up talking absolute rubbish, and the media doesn't paint Trump out as a racist, homophobe, anti-semite, etc, if they weren't concerned with identity politics. We are now debating what is in front of our very eyes
.

BTW, speaking of NYT, before the election they were predicting Clinton's winning odds at 92%. Ninety-two-fucking-percent.
That is not news. That is propaganda.

I am not going to get into it too much but there are times when you need a Trump or Putin type leader, there are other times when it might be better to have a Merkel or a Hollande. The writing was on the wall and this is the truth BLM straight up gift wrapped the Presidency. I was listening to an honest black politician and he said, "White people will retialiate, get ready for it." They call this "white lash," I cal it payback. I'm not even all that crazy about Trump but ANYONE IS BETTER THAN KILLARY AKA OBAMA 2.0.

Its sooo funny and at the same time sooo sad to see what kind of a society is ruling the world...i dont even have to click on that tube video. The first look at the picture on that video clip alone, made me laugh. The level of political literacy specially among the US people is horribly low.

On that picture above, you see a guy saying bye bye supposedly to the "leftists". The guy is leaving the pack and now when i look at those symbols kept high by the so called leftist pack, i see the symbols of islam, christianity, judaism, korean buddhism, and peace!!! I mean any semi literate person would have to ask himself: WTF? What does islam, christianity, judaism, buddhism or peace anything to do with socialism, communism (=leftism)?
After watching the video i still had to say: WTF?! What exactly is this guy trying to say and why is he throwing around with terms like progressive, regressive, lefty, liberal, democrat, although he is just explaining a simple thing? Why is he making use of all those terms although he obviously doenst know shit about their meanings? Its so hillarious to see how many americans try to decorate themselves with terms and words that they simply dont understand. Terms they use just in order to come across knowledgable. I mean what does it mean "i am not a democrat, i am liberal"? loooooooool. I would like to ask this alpha moron: What the heck is wrong with being a democrat? Being a democrat is a good thing, only because your democratic party and the so called democrats in the US are no democrats in reality but just on paper and in words, it doesnt mean the term "democrat" changes its true meaning aswell! Only because US so called democrats like Carter, Clinton, Obama...have been either islam loving or war mongering assholes, starting offensive wars on so many countries and regions disregarding the basics of the term "democrat" it doesnt mean the term is a bad term. It just means those so called democrats are no democrats. Everything is gharashmish among americans, the democrat is no democrat, the liberal is no true liberal, their so called lefties are actually capitalist-opportunists and according to the true meaning of the terms, actually as right as it gets. In the US there is just right and right from right and those standing right from right, consider those who are just right, communists!

This is why i say the majority of americans and the mamal emrikaii, not only dont know shit about the term leftist, they dont know shit about many other terms they throw around with like noghl o nabaat either. Liberal, democrat, republican, left, right, socialist, communist....Obama was branded a socialist or even communist by a lot illiterate americans! I mean Karl Marx would turn himself in the grave if he could see what people are called socialist or communist nowadays :)
