They should add Best Team of the Year, so they don't mess with the Best Player selection. This is all politics and marketing. CR is not by far the best player. There are a number of players between Messi and CR. They automatically give the Best Player award to a marketed player in a team. CR was not any better than a number of players in Real Madrid. Modric and Marcello contributed more or at least as much as CR. The guy has scored one goal in La Liga so far, and that's mostly what he does. You rarely see him manage or run the game, or make beautiful long and difficult passes. What a BS.

Dude, it's all the power of marketing, and bias. Who do you expect CQ to vote for other than his countryman? Individually, Messi and Neymar are ahead of CR. This is the best player award, not team performance. I personally don't care what captains and coaches vote for. You don't have to be a coach to see who is better. It's like when Iran plays like crap sometimes, and CQ says he thinks they played very well, or any other coach that says that about their team. People are not blind, they can see who is a better "individual" player.

There is no logic in what you saying. No one thought this is the best tam performance. the best team picked itself already. Those 150 something votes were specifically for the best individual. You think Neymar and Messi were better than CR last year then fine but apparently not everyone agreed with you . As of today and this time Messi is ahead of rest of Europe by miles so he better start making room in his trophy cabinet for his 6th Ballon d'or

The European Footballer of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year awards were merged into the FIFA Ballon d’Or but now they are back to their original format. .

So who won Ballon d'or in 2017? Or it has yet to be announced? And why football need so many award ceremonies?
