That has been where Iran was going for quite a long time. It's just that many didn't want to open their eyes until it came and knocked on their door.

I was an active participant of Basij from a very young age myself. Even my own parents were oblivious to the monster that was getting nurtured in me. Had I continued on that path, there would be no returning once I reached adulthood. Adults rarely change course.

Thats interessting BT jaan. What or who made you change course already in young ages?
The internet. Migrating out of Iran was of course the main event that rescued me from that evil education system, but I maintained my respect for many rotten ideologies until my obsession with reading, research and science opened my eyes to the world of reality.

My family is by no means religious or that traditional. We're fairly normal people. My point is that these Basijis don't come from mars. They come from families fairly similar to our own.

BT jaan, I agree that unfortunately for the last 2500 years, us Iranians have been like sheep. before the revolution and after we like to follow and culturally be led. you chose to investigate other ideas, as a whole most Iranians accept what is told to them as %100 TRUE and do not question it. this includes all aspects of culture, religion and politics. what we don't like we belive to be a conspiracy theory by some outside force.
