شیرین عبادی، برنده جایزه صلح نوبل در آستانه فرا رسیدن روز جهانی زن با انتشار بیانیه***ای اعلام کرد که زنان و مردانی که برای داشتن حقوق برابر مبارزه می***کنند، در روز ۸ مارس به خیابان***ها خواهند آمد.
این بیانیه با تاکید بر اینکه داشتن یک «حکومت دموکرات» مستلزم بازنگری قانون اساسی است، بازنگری قانون را مقدمه «یک حرکت مدنی در ایران» خوانده است.
برنده نوبل صلح روز ۸ مارس امسال (۱۳۸۹) را روز ویژه ای دانسته و اعلام کرده است که این ٨ مارس نیز زنان و مردان برابری خواه برای بیان خواسته هایشان به خیابان ها خواهند آمد.
در سال***های اخیر فعالان حقوق زنان اجازه برگزاری تجمع خیابانی در روز جهانی زن را نداشته***اند و اعتراضات خیابانی آنها با سرکوب گسترده نیروهای امنیتی مواجه شده است.
شیرین عبادی در این بیانیه که امروز ١١ اسفند ماه نسخه***ای از آن بدست رادیو زمانه رسیده، خطاب به زنان ایرانی نوشته است: «مبادا که در گیر و دار حوادث سیاسی، خواسته بر حق و همیشگی خود را که «تساوی حقوق» است فراموش کنید! در این روز همگام و هم دوش با برادران هم وطن خود به خیابان***ها آمده و از خواست همگانی حمایت می***کنیم زیرا که دسترسی به «حقوق برابر» جز در یک حکومت دموکراتیک امکان پذیر نیست.»
برخی فعالان مدنی و سیاسی نیز پیش از این برای برگزاری تجمع***های اعتراضی در سه شنبه***های سال ١٣٨٩ فراخوان داده بودند. ١٠ اسفند ماه در اولین سه شنبه اعلام شده تجمعات پراکنده***ای در تهران و برخی دیگر از شهرهای ایران شکل گرفت و دومین سه شنبه اعلام شده مصادف با روز ٨ مارس، روز جهانی زن است.
بیانیه شیرین عبادی در حالی منتشر شده که در روزهای گذشته برخی سایت***های نزدیک به مخالفان دولت با اعلام فراخوان راهپیمایی، سه شنبه***ای که هم زمان با روز جهانی زن است را از فهرست روزهای تجمع حذف کرده***اند.
شیرین عبادی با اشاره به سابقه محدودیت***هایی که در سی و دو سال گذشته در تصمیم گیری***های حکومتی برای زنان اعمال شده، گفته است: «۳۲ سال قبل در ۸ مارس – روز جهانی زن – طبق اطلاعیه***ای که از صدا و سیمای جمهوری اسلامی ایران قرائت شد، زنانی که کارمند دولت بودند از ابتدائی***ترین حق خود یعنی آزادی در پوشش محروم شدند و از آن پس به تدریج هویت و شخصیت زن ایرانی دستخوش هجوم مردانی شد که حق مادری را پاس نمی***داشتند.»
دربخش دیگری از این بیانیه شیرین عبادی نه فقط حاکمیت ایران، بلکه بدنه روشنفکری ایران را نیز در پایمال شدن حقوق زنان موثر دانسته است: «سال***ها صدای حق طلبی زنان را به انحاء مختلف خفه کرده***اند. ***گاه به بهانه سوءاستفاده ضد انقلاب، ***گاه به دستاویز جنگ با عراق، زمانی برای حفظ امنیت ملی و زمانی دیگر به علت مبارزه با استکبار جهانی و دردناک***تر آنکه نه تنها حاکمان سیاسی بلکه حتی بسیاری از روشنفکران نیز در به فراموشی سپردن زنان، سهیم بوده***اند.»
وی همچنین به هزینه***های گزاف حق خواهی زنان اشاره کرده و گفته است: «زنان شجاعی که از حق برابر دم زدند و ندای تساوی طلبی سر دادند، گرفتار باتوم و شلاق پاسداران رژیم شده و یا سر از زندان***ها در آوردند، چند نفری هم به چوبه دار سپرده شدند - روزی که رهائی انسان و نه فقط مردان را جشن بگیریم، فرزندانمان تاریخ را به گونه***ای دیگر خواهند نوشت.»
بنا به این بیانیه: «دسترسی به «حقوق برابر» متضمن اصلاح قوانین تبعیض آمیز است و رسیدن به این هدف، مستلزم اصلاح موادی از قانون اساسی است تا امکان چنین اصلاحاتی فراهم آید و از این رو باز نگری در قانون اساسی جمهوری اسلامی ایران نه یک خواست سیاسی بلکه مقدمه یک حرکت مدنی است.»
در بند پایانی این بیانیه آمده است: «زنان ایران نه تشنه قدرت سیاسی***اند و نه طالب زندگی بی***بند و بار و بیزار از تحقیر و ستم در جستجوی عدالت و برابری هستند.»

UNITED NATIONS — The UN has quietly made way for Iran to join the global body's Commission on the Status of Women Friday, just days after very publicly suspending Libya from its Human Rights Council.
The Islamic Republic — which last year sentenced a supposedly adulterous woman to death by stoning and deploys police to harass women not deemed to be sufficiently covered — became one of the commission's 45 members as part of a group of 11 incoming countries.
As many countries left the commission at the close of its 55th session on Friday, opening those slots for the new members, each of which the UN General Assembly elected or — in Iran's case — named by acclamation last April to serve for four years.
"The vote happened so long ago that everyone just forgets that the changing of the guard is happening now," said Anne Bayefsky, a Canadian political science professor who heads the monitoring group Eye on the UN. Her organization issued a video Friday highlighting the case Iran made to win its commission spot.
"Iran's presence will be a real affront to women, but it will also show how the UN is back to business-as-usual despite the great fanfare this week surrounding the action it took on Libya."
Joseph Deiss, the Swiss president of the UN General Assembly, concluded debate Tuesday by saying he was "proud" to have chaired the session in which the 192 member states unanimously agreed to suspend Libya's membership of the organization's highest human rights body.
Libya's presence on the 47-member council had become an acute embarrassment for the UN in the face of daily televised scenes showing attacks by Libyan government forces on unarmed Libyan civilians.
But Eye on the UN highlights — in a bulletin released alongside the video — that Libya continues to serve on the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the UN Committee on Information and the executive board of UN Women.
The group points to numerous other examples of what it describes as misplaced UN "authority figures." Among them, Cuba and Belarus sit on the UN Commission on Sustainable Development; Somalia and Sudan are members of the executive committee of the UN's refugee agency; and Iran, Kazakhstan and China sit alongside Libya on the UN Committee on Information.
Rona Ambrose, Minister for the Status of Women, addressed the Commission on the Status of Women last month, but Canada is not among the 45 member states.
UN officials say agencies must take into account the principle of equitable regional representation when offering membership spots. بر اساس گزارش سازمان کار هم اکنون ۱۳درصد از زنان ایرانی مشغول به کار هستند که این آمار بر اساس وعده های مسئولان در رتبه پایینی قرار دارد.
به گزارش ایلنا، فاطمه مقیمی رئیس موسسه کانون زنان بازرگان ایران گفت: "آمارهای مجمع جهانی اقتصاد حاکی از مشارکت ۴۲ درصدی زنان در فعالیت های اقتصادی است. براساس آمارهای این مجمع زنان ۴ هزار و ۴۷۵ دلار و مردان ۱۱ هزار و ۳۶۳ دلار درآمد دارند که با بررسی این آمار درمی یابیم مردان دو برابر زنان درآمد دارند."
رئیس هیات موسس کانون زنان بازرگان ایران گفت: "براساس آمار مجمع جهانی اقتصاد ایران در رتبه ۱۱۶ از حیث فعالیت های اقتصادی زنان قرار دارد که این آمار در گذشته جایگاه ۱۱۸را نشان می داد."
وی تاکید کرد: "براساس گزارش سازمان کار هم اکنون ۱۳درصد از زنان ایرانی مشغول به کار هستند."
این فعال اقتصادی در ادامه با عنوان این مطلب که این کانون گام نخست خود را به شناسایی زنان کارآفرین در داخل و خارج اختصاص داده است، گفت: "تشکیل بانک اطلاعاتی از بانوان اقتصادی تنها مسئولیتی نبود که کانون زنان بازرگان بر عهده داشت. ما در زمینه اخذ مجوزهای مورد نیاز زنان در قالب قوانین جمهوری اسلامی نیز اقداماتی را انجام داده ایم.

وی افزود: "بر همین اساس قصد داریم که با تشکیل کمیته متشکل از خبرنگاران زن روند اطلاع رسانی زنان بازرگان را نیز سرعت بخشیم."

4,000 woman prisnores undr the Shah? According amnesty international there were no more 2,400 political prisnores in Iran all together. Reza Shah and Shah tried with some success to free woman from estebdud dini and the answer was lies like that.

Indeed every day is "women's day", especially in Iran and for Iranians, until they are truly emancipated. This is directly connected to the cause of freedom and justice in Iran. It simply cannot be established unless and until women are truly free. It begins by "lifting the veil" which is a symbol of subjugation of women, bygone times and bankrupt ideologies, but goes much beyond that to empower women to be equal partners of men in building an ever-advancing society. Men and women must be equally engaged in this process.
What a let down...
I just spoke to Iran and my own family members were utterly disappointed with people's lack of will power or information. They said almost everybody in the neighborhood hates this regime's guts, but not a single one of them is willing to miss their afternoon nap or dinner over it.
