Dubai: A 22-year-old woman decided to take legal action against her husband who allegedly beat her up in the streets of Dubai.
The Iranian wife alleged that after five years of marriage to her compatriot husband, a businessman, living with him has become a nightmare since he "started cursing and beating her up".
Some time ago her husband allowed the woman to visit her parents in Iran. When she told them of her ordeal, her father called up his son-in-law asking him to come to Iran in an attempt to save their marriage.
The husband went to Iran but reportedly refused to settle the dispute and instead approached the authorities, who issued a travel ban against his wife. The young wife, however, managed to return to the UAE.
Repeated cursing
Two law enforcement officers escorted her to the couple's house in Sharjah to help her remove her belongings. The mother-in-law allegedly called the woman a "prostitute". Her husband too cursed her and even beat her up in front of the policemen. Following the incident, she lodged a criminal case against them with Sharjah police.
A few days later, the husband reportedly spotted his wife driving in Dubai. He allegedly blocked her way, pulled her out of her car and cursed her again. He started beating her up till some pedestrians stopped him.
The woman lodged a criminal case against him with the Dubai Police.

What do they expect ??
For any Iranian women (or any decent woman with a free soul) to move to an Arab country - is just plain stupid !! even for a married woman.

bebin che badbakht shodeem ke arab police must protect our women. Arabs whose idead of dating used to be(and in most places still is) keeping a Harem of women.

reedam too een roozegar.

BTW, they must be used to these stuff in those countries though, because on systematic basis Phillipino and some Sri lankan baby sitters are raped and beaten.

There was a case with a kuwaiti official that he threw the pregnant girl out of a 10th floor balcony a few years back.

I mean dubai has caravans of Russian, Belarussian hookers flooding their club scene so the local men can be satisfied with foreign imports and leave the local moslem women alone, so i would not be suprised if in such countries rights of women are stepped on.

we are hearing half the story, what did the woman do?
did the man 1st) talk to the wife regarding her behaviour? 2nd) abandon her in bed? lastly) HIT, (not beat) (zarb is the word used not, zarabaat!)?

men hitting woman and domestic violence is not particular to a country. its all over the place.

Amir jAn,
You are definitely referring to Verse 34 of Soora Al Nisa. In that verse the word is YAZRABAHOONA, and word clearly comes from arabic Verb of Zarb which means hitting, but I don't know Yazrabahoona means Hit Once or continuous beating.
Also the same Verse doesn't say your Woman but it says your Women.

Its sick what the husband did but Dubai papers have a tendency to bash Iran every time they get a chance! Yeah and Dubai Arabs are any better??? The same story was published about the the Dubai Ruling family in a britsh news paper. Evedently one of the wives did a Hello magazine exclusive and upon her return was beat up to a pulp and put in prison where evidently she died of septic desease from her wounds!

Why are we even debating this. This is true Islam. This man is excercising his right under Islam and thefore Arab laws. This is something that Muhammad approved and a right that he gave to men to beat their women.

Bakhtiar warned us about these time to come. **** Bazargan and all others who fell for Khamenie.

It seems like the only source of news you guys have is this forum. Read your local newspaper and see what goes on in your own cities here in USA. By the way this guy is one of your own, does it matter if he is an ass in UAE, USA, Iran or anywhere else. If this is true Islam then Charles Manson who killed Sharon Tate that was eight months pregnant, true Christianity. Being an ignorant is not an excuse.

Excellent point.

Interesting part is that the Iranian, so called, moslem are not doing anything to defend her or prevent this from happening again. laugh!!!

In other news, a man beat and killed his wife here in Canada today, because women are evil and according to the bible, Eve, the origin of womankind caused man to fall in sin.
Note: This didn't actually happen, but it seems some of you have this sort of reasoning.
