Thanks Cali jan. What a cowardly move by the US. Just like one of the papers in Iran said, I wonder if she had dual US & Israeli citizenship whether the gov't would force her to remove the Israeli flag.

The Arabo-Muslim flag of the Islamic Republic occupying Iran does not only have Arabic script in the middle of it (the spider/sikh/allah emblem) but has so above and underneath that symbol as well - the flag that Mrs Ansari was wearing had those Arabic scripts.

What a crock of shit! If the news about Americans refusing to allow her in the station becuase of the Iranian flag, then shame on them!!

She is a private citizen that pais with her own money for the trip and should be allowed to wear any fucking flag she desires.

I am really surprised that Americans had a say in it!!!
Why should a tourist going to space, paying millions of dollars is not allowed
to carry whatever flag she likes!

And as so rightly Z.A. pointed out, if she was an Israeli-American, she
could have even take Olmert's photo with her.

nobody wants to see that KESAFAT sign in space. Unless if arabs decide to get off their fucking camels and go into space.

then they can plant the OMAR's flag right on the moslem side of the moon.

I think Arabs have been to space long long while ago...
Remember one of Saudi princes made it and saw the moon from the space; that
year Saudis had the shortest fasting month ever. :)
Now Imagine if they go and put a webcam or something there. They will be able to
work around the whole fasting month. :)

I'm as against IR and arabization as one could be but this is what I think happened:

Russians did not allow her to wear any flag that represents Iran other than IRI flag. Afterall, they have relatively close ties with Iran. Unfortunately most europeans have close relationship with IRI although they may deny it in some reports.

You can not blame her for wanting to represent Iran in any permitable way. I probably would have done the same if that flag was the only choice because at least it has the colors of our country.

This matter should have been clarified before signing the contract. Any how I don't think US and Russia should act like children and start a fiasco over what sort of flag She should stick on her sleeve.

BTW While that Saudi ba$turd (Prince) was floating in space they called him Mission Specialist vs Anousheh being called Space Tourist.

Lets be fair. The guy wasn't only a prince. Here is his brief biography:

Al-Saud was born June 27, 1956, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He completed his elementary and secondary education in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Master's Degree in Social and Political Science-The Maxwell School of Syracuse University, USA. He is a certified civil pilot (FAA, USA-1976) and a fighter pilot, Colonel (retired)- Royal Saudi Air Force.

I know Anousheh has earned her way hard way and the prince had all
the money in his disposal to get there. But lets face it, Arab princes are
not as dumb as we always think they are! Money can change IQs too. :)
