Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes Michael Ballack will make a decision about his future this month with the Germany international still pondering over a contract extension.
The 29-year-old midfielder is out of contract next northern summer and the target of many top clubs throughout Europe, although Bayern are hoping to convince him to stay by offering a lucrative new deal.
Final talks between Ballack and Bayern are set for mid-October and Rummenigge insists: "A decision will then be made whether he accepts our offer or not."
Rummenigge also added on Bayern's website that he is confident three other players would soon be signing on the dotted line for a new deal.
Referring to negotiations with Owen Hargreaves, Willy Sagnol and Roque Santa Cruz, Rummenigge said: "We're very optimistic that we will reach agreements over new contracts."
